Kumi's Nail lounge — Local services in Holladay

My experience here today was mostly negative. Their pedicure package was fine. But between me and the three other people who came in with me, our service was highly inconsistent. They forgot my sister’s hot rock massage and she didn’t know differently at the time to ask them about it. They aren’t good at doing nail designs. They had to alter the design I asked for which was fine, but the finished product was very messy. Unfortunately the lady who did my design could not understand what I was asking for so she kept doing the lines wrong no matter what I did to try to explain what I wanted. What was frustrating was that she got one nail completely correct so I asked her to use it as a reference for the other one, but in the end she couldn’t understand how the other one wasn’t right. The lady ended up calling me really picky, which didn’t feel good. After that I felt discouraged to ask her to fix anything else that needed it. I’m really not picky, but since I’m paying someone 100 dollars for service, and I have to live with my hands looking like that for a long time, I just wanted to feel good about the work. My sister was unhappy with her design too, and as with me, the lady who helped her couldn’t really understand what she wanted or how she was getting it wrong. They also recommended dip nails, which are more expensive but last longer. However, they left my nails looking really fat and unnatural. And again I didn’t speak up as much as I should have because she made me feel uncomfortable doing so. Unfortunately, I will have to get my nails redone really soon because I don’t know how long I’ll be able to put up with them like this. I won’t be coming here again. On the bright side, their pedicure was a decent price (though it seems as if they didn’t charge us a consistent price based on the services we received). I've been а customer of Kumi'с for аlmost 3 years. Every 3-4 weeks, i would bring business for dip, full set, fills, gel polish, pedicure. I've seen Ty and На and have been very pleased with their work, so i kept coming back. On 9/6/22, because На is out of the country, i saw а different technician and had the worst experience. I just came in for а fill and gel polish change on my hands. However, I was sent home with glob paint, raw and inflammed nail beds. I started my car, looked at my nails and саme back in, to have them redone. I didn't receive an apology. The next day, i reached out directly to the owner, Kieu, who told me, she does not have the technicians with the right skill set for my needs (fill and gel polish change) no design, nothing eleborate. The owner, suggested i check out another salon. Why do you operate а salon and charge the amount that you do then without the right skill set of your employees? If the customer cannot expect good work with fill and simple gel polish? Maybe this is not the right business. The owner was not focused on trying to keep me as а customer, which usually business owners pride theemselves in. I wouldnt recommend this place, it's just not what it used to be. Very...

Terrible service. I was appalled by how I was treated on my last visit. I came in for a mani/pedi and they said they could take me. A girl started cleaning my fingernails while another started my pedicure. She continued trying to do my nails over my lap, getting nail filings on my clothes and yanking my arm across my body. I told her that I was very uncomfortable and asked if we could wait until after, like usual when I've gotten a manicure/pedi there. They said they didn't have time to do my manicure now, even though they had taken walk-ins and phone appointments after me. They left my nails looking like garbage and said I'd have to reschedule my manicure. Then they charged me for the cuticle trimming they had already started on. The girl was rude to me when I questioned why she was charging me for services I didn't ask her for. I've been here multiple times and while they have never been particularly friendly, and they always try to upcharge on services that are typically included, I like their color selection and they are I close to my house. I honestly will never go here again and I would strongly recommend everyone to go to a salon that actually values...
