This is a Family owned business and you know it as they treat you like family. I have been shopping at this location for years and even at their busiest time, they always find a way to ask me if I’m OK or need help. I have always been treated very fair and respected at FGE and that says a lot Being a female shooter. I recently had an issue with a gun I purchased and this business made it right. I live over an hour away and I emailed the company to ask them if they had a certain gun and on the same day I was emailed back from them stating what they had available and the price of the items available. I was very excited and headed to the store for my purchase. While at the store I purchased another gun, a newer company & brand unfamiliar by me or the gunsmith, and it was a used gun that had come in. Again the gunSmith suggested I take a different gun (about the same price) since he was very unfamiliar with this brand at the time but I was adamant about buying this gun. I learned my lesson and will always listen to that gunsmith because he honestly had the best intentions for me and I know that now. When I got home I had issues with that used gun I bought. I had issues with the feed and ejection of rounds. I emailed the store right away to let them know the issues and I also took pictures and videos of the issues I had with the gun. I was emailed right away from the company saying that they would exchange my purchase for the other gun that I wanted (the one the gunsmith had suggested I purchase the day before) I drove back to the store and I was treated like I had never been treated before -it was simply amazing. I felt like I was the head of their family! they made everything right; they gave me the upmost courtesy and attention and made sure that I was extremely happy with my purchase and my exchange. I want to let you know that James and Greg and the gunsmith that work at that business are simply amazing men with whom I will buy all of my fire arms in the future from. they really had my best interest at heart and they were genuine with their care and attention and they made me feel so happy leaving that store. Thank you so much James, Greg, and the gunsmith for everything that you did you will always have this repeat customer.photos are of the Victor that I asked about and purchased and the other is my return. APF-9. I LOVE the Saint Victor BTW! I exchanged it for...
Read moreUpdate to 4 stars: I went in today to return the optic after buying the one online and Carlton was very nice and asked me what price I found it for and that he can price match it, I asked him why it wasn't done the first time and instead of making up an excuse or something he took full accountability that the ball was dropped and he apologized for the poor experience. I decided then just due to his mannerism and showing me he values his customers, to keep the item and allow for the price match of the optic. He gave me a 5 star experience but the reason for the update to 4 instead of 5 is because I still had to drive total of an hour there and back to get what I wanted done in the first place, actually done. I will give them another chance but I'm not sure and can't guarantee this may or may not happen again.
Today marked both my first and last purchase at this store. I stopped by because I was in the area and urgently needed to purchase an optic for my new firearm. Online, this optic typically sells for between $330 and $360, with free shipping. When I went into the store, however, the exact same optic with the same MPN was priced at $430. I asked if they could price match with reputable companies like GunMagWarehouse or OpticsPlanet, both of which have the optic listed for $360. Todd, who served me, took a long time to assist and had a notably poor attitude. He informed me that the best price the manager would offer for this discontinued optic (due to the upcoming release of the x2 series) was $400 plus tax. While I reluctantly agreed because I needed the optic immediately, the experience didn’t improve. When the cashier asked for my personal information to create an account, I politely declined. It wasn't just the optic; I noticed several other items were priced well above the retail MSRP. Upon walking in, it's hard to miss the store's cases and walls filled with firearms, optics, and accessories but yet the place was nearly empty of customers. This seemed telling, as many of their prices are way over inflated above retail. This is my first negative review for a gun store, which is unfortunate, as I have always maintained a good review streak for my favorite firearm shops but that's fine, one bad bump was needed so I do not waste time/gas coming here and continue to support my...
Read moreThird time I have visited and the last time I will go. Today I arrived shortly after open on a Tuesday. I was hoping that I would be able to get some help and advice on a rifle costing over 1000 dollars. Several employees were behind the counter dealing with one customer looking at a handgun. One of them asked if I was looking for something and I gave a specific answer. They pointed to another area and said the item was over there...I proceeded thinking that one of the employees would follow to assist but nope, nobody came or even attempted to come when I turned and shrugged my shoulders and got eye contact. 200 round trip journey wasted.. I got the same service twice before but thought it was because it was a weekend and it was busy. Got me once, twice, three times and you lose a customer forever...I will not go back and suggest the same to others unless you have a friend who works there to help.
Update: I finally returned to see if the post assuring me that all will be better was done. I found that it is still the same and I would be better off going to Academy where I am certainly able to at least get a qualified cash register operator. Specifically, I found and was interested in a firearm. I did get the attention of a salesperson and after an initial inspection asked if he could field strip the item so that I could see the barrel (it was a used firearm). He agreed, but did not know how to do that and claimed that cleaning had to be done via the muzzle. I told him that he was absolutely wrong about that and he decided to go find someone else to explain how to disassemble. After he returned, the claim was that it took many tools and therefore not an easy or quick job. I purchased the item later from another place and learned how to disassemble. It was very easy and took all of about 45 seconds with the one little tool that was supplied with the gun by the manufacturer. My biggest complaint is that the sales person lied to me rather than getting someone else that had the knowledge to assist. We used a internet search to show him that he was not being truthful yet he persisted and deferred. I will not spend the gas to return as the store has a lot of work to do before I would ever consider looking at the...
