Even considering a typical Goodwill’s standards, the prices at this one are absolutely insane! Not sure how they train the staff to price the items but I’m curious to know where they get their metrics from. A ton of the used items are priced higher than new retail prices, and almost everything is priced higher than eBay/Etsy/posh used prices. I stop in there every now and then just to take a few pics of the ridiculous price tags to share with some friends for a good laugh.
Definitely not one of the better Goodwill locations. The store is small with a limited quantity of merchandise. Much of it is grossly overpriced. The store clerks clearly don’t know how to price items because I have seen quite a bit of merchandise from the Dollar Store tagged at $2.99! I saw two pairs of sneakers there the other day that were very visibly worn but because they were “Nike” their price was set at $79 and $89 a pair. I wouldn’t even pay that for new, much less used. If they are that valuable they should be in the online Goodwill store. The prices have DRASTICALLY increased in the past 12-18 months, so I spend considerably less as a result! It’s also very hard to find any half-price merchandise there if you don’t go on the first day of the ticket markdowns, because the employees start removing the half-price ticket color well before the end of the week. Not very customer friendly in that regard! Still occasionally you can find a bargain if you look hard enough. I just tend to find better bargains at the Goodwill locations in Sanford, Orange city, and DELAND, or at City Thrift right...
Read moreThe manager is the rudest woman I have ever met. The pricing there for items other than clothing is just offensive. I was trying to negotiate on a gaming wheel that's was parts or not working. They wanted $10 less than it was selling for new. It was discontinued back in 2010. So the asking price was purely offensive. I attempted to explain to the woman about the item and its condition. She did not want to hear it.
When I got angry, I said they get their items for free and I cant see why they cant negotiate that's when she started offending me. I wasn't trying to be unreasonable. I was willing to pay $20 for a broken item. Good Willis not good will. They are a for profit organization, even though they claim they are non profit. A pawn shop is more negotiable than they are.
They have ruined the image of thrift shops every where. This is the last place I...
