Last Chance Bar — Restaurant in Holly Hill

I just stopped in at Last chance before midnight after hanging out with my family and had no alcohol prior. I was going home and decided to stop and have a beer. When I went in i wasn’t asked by this unprofessional beer opener woman behind the bar named Dawn a transient woman from outside the area what I’d like. Instead, she asked me if I had a Uber ready when I left. What kind of crap is that and totally not her business. She has no clue beyond looking at her fingers about what’s going on in a bar. The first thing she asked me when I stopped in to have my first beer of the day she asked me if I had an Uber. Totally, she has no clue what to ask a customer when they come in for a beer. Totally insulting to a local who is used to being treated with respect for decades. She told me Without hesitation that she saw me at a bar that sold liquor. Maybe she was jealous because I was at Liquor bar that has people with some type of knowledge to make and not just pop open a beer bottle or can at a bar Unfortunately, she has no clue because I don’t drink liquor only beer. Her intelligence showed that night that she couldn’t even be a pretend bartender. Just because she can open up a beer as a kindergarten could do tells me a lot about her intelligence. When she judges a customer who comes in for their first beer then refuses to sell me a beer unless I had a Uber that is going way out of bounds. What business was her to ask me a personal question about how I get home before I even drink one beer. She never even asked me about what beer I would like. I didn’t even have a chance to order one beer before she interrogated me for no reason. She refused to serve me only because I did not answer if I had an Uber. Who in the head does she think she is when I walk in to just order a beer and she’s asking me personal questions. When I didn’t order she refused the serve So I left . Never have ever been in that type of situation before when a man just wants to have a beer. The bottom line is you cannot fix stupid and hopefully one day she will be able To learn how to treat people with dignity and maybe get some type of education. I never wrote negative review about anybody after decades of living and growing up in Daytona Beach area. Now I can see why there was no one in “The last chance bar” when I arrived. Bartender was rude took me 15 minutes to get served standing at the bar. Took orders from existing customers already seated. Terrible service. Update as of 2/23/23 I was pleasantly surprised to discover the bartender mentioned is no longer employed here!! Great service meaning quick and smooth. I'm going back again soon. It's a lot better now. Be good to go and have a beer and some food...

Decided to stop here on a whim after dropping off the dogs at Pet Paradise. What a great dive bar!! Cheap beer, great service, very friendly clientele, and dogs!
