Me and my Fiancé were looking for a Siberian kitten when we found this breeder. The initial meeting went good and we ended up adopting a 4 month old Siberian kitten named Sabrina.
When we were at the breeder’s home meeting the kitten, we (me and my fiancé) noticed that Sabrina’s right eye was red and inflamed. The breeder said that she was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and we were given eyedrops. Upon examination, the medication we were given was in Russian and not from a vet in the United States. This caused some worry with us, but we gave Sabrina the medication and continued to monitor her eye.
A few days passed and 4th of July came. Her eye at this point had not improved and we contacted the breeder again, her response was sickening. She wanted to either take the cat back or issue a refund. We asked if we could just get medication for her so we can treat her as Sabrina had already become a loved member of our family.
We treated her with another Russian medication and that also did not make any improvements to the eye. At this point, we still had not received any documentation from the breeder as to what vaccinations and other shots and tests she was given as well as the microchip. As stated in the contract.
Me and my fiancé took Sabrina to an Eye vet and her diagnosis was Granulomatous Uveitis possibly caused due to FIP, an often fatal disease in cats. After this vet visit we frantically attempted to retrieve these vital health documents from the breeder and we were met with verbal assault, legal retaliation, or replacing the cat with a new one. She even threatened to come to our home and take the cat.
We then took Sabrina to get proper bloodwork done, her results indicated a possible FIP diagnosis.
This breeder made us sign a legal contract, and in so doing, both parties need to uphold to the terms and conditions of the contract. The breeder never supplied the documentation for Sabrina’s vaccinations and shots, which could seriously help in Sabrina’s treatment. This was an awful and depressing experience and I would never recommend this breeder to anyone.
She also states that all care came from Banfield Pet Hospital, a known “jiffylube of vet hospitals” that is known for being untrustworthy and unreliable. I urge anyone considering this breeder to think again. Please. Save yourself...
