et me start by saying the Yellow Green Farmers Market is not a market; it's an alternate dimension. One minute you're looking for a nice tomato, and the next you're haggling over a bottle of artisan perfume while your spouse considers a novelty hat made entirely of ferns. They've got everything—clothing, greenery, and the friendliest, most "hello, neighbor" people you could imagine. It's a delightful, slightly overwhelming place to spend a family afternoon. But let's talk about the main event, the undisputed heavyweight champion of our visit: the Llanera wood-fire meat. We saw the fire, we smelled the delicious smoke, and like two people who hadn't eaten in a geological era, we ordered the Family Feast. "That's a nice amount of food," my friend said, innocently. "We can share this," I agreed, a fool's words if ever they were uttered. Friends, that wasn't a feast; it was a food pyramid carved out of pure, smoky, perfectly cooked meat. I'm pretty sure they wheeled a whole cow out on a hand truck. For under $70, we were given enough wood-fire protein to sustain a small village for the winter, or at least my family for the next week. We ate until we couldn't feel our toes. We ate until the concept of "full" became a distant, theoretical state. And yet, when we packed up, we were still left with a terrifying, beautiful mountain of meat. I'm currently using the leftovers to make llanera-based tacos, llanera-based chili, and I think I saw my dog eyeing a slice for a llanera-based dog biscuit. If you like incredible, flavorful, wood-fire meat and you hate the idea of cooking for yourself for the foreseeable future, run, don't walk. Just make sure you bring a car with an empty trunk for all the leftovers....
Read moreThis is a Colombian jewel spot to come and enjoy the best Llanera Carne en Vara/ WoodFireMeat, this amazing restaurant is located inside of the Yellow Farmers Market in Holliwood. Their prices are very fair and their meats are cooked to perfection and I can highly recommend it because I was there when Chef @ramsay himself came here and tasted the meats cooked by Chef Johnatan and his team. This restaurant is the best and more closest experience to Colombian WoodFire as it’s best. When you come to Yellow Farmers Market, as soon as you pass through the main entrance where all the outdoor vendors are then you keep walking ,then take the first left and then you will see on your left hand side a gorgeous display of meats that are being cooked on metal bars and their logo it’s just next to it “ Carne en Vara LLANERA” you can order Togo or if you prefer you can stay here and eat these delicious dishes. For those who like to eat with A/C they have indoor seating or if you love to experience the way Colombian cowboys enjoy these delicious dishes you can just stay and eat your meal outdoors. Highly...
Read moreThey could use an expeditor to look at the tickets. There is no reason why it should take 20 minutes to get a chorizo. Having to stand there and watch them cut up all this meat for other orders is ridiculous as my ticket is there for something simple that they pull out of the steam table or aluminum grill pan and put on a plate. Just a little common sense for the worker who is walking around once in awhile look at the tickets there and see if something simple can be put together and served.
The blood sausage was good, the chorizo was good as well but not hot. If you go to charge me 8:50 for two sausages ask them to be hot isn't a...
