I never leave reviews but here it is: Three days before my wedding I went in for eyelash extensions. Never had them and told the office I had pretty sensitive eyes. I reminded the tech once more and asked about a possible reaction and what to do. Her response: oh that never happens. Proceeded to put in the lashes; mind you never did a skin test, never asked me what length to look at or choose. I learned later from other techs at other institutions that if a client comes in saying they have sensitive eyes or if itās before a huge event they always do a skin test to see if there would be a reaction. You can guess what happens next, but I had an allergic reaction: swelling, itching, the whole nine yards. And right before my wedding. I called extremely early the next day begging them to remove them. Their response? The only time is end of day. During the time the time of my rehearsal and while Iām in pain because of the reaction. I replied nope canāt do that, I need to come in earlier. They proceed to tell me they will call me back when they have around and move clients. Waited for an hour. Nothing. Had to call around to other boutiques and techs who would be willing to remove the extensions. I found a person willing, and I proceed to call back Carve to let them know to stop moving clients around. The receptionist who answered was nice, but I could tell that they hadnāt called around to other clients to fit me in. I ended up paying $30 to another tech to remove the extensions. Never got a refund, never got a call asking how I was or what happened. Donāt waste your time or your money.
Update: Carve had contacted me and we did swap information for a refund, which is very considerate. However that was about 3 weeks ago and...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlease do not go here, one of the younger staff ended up frying my hair into oblivion. They might dispute that my hair was pre-processed, but that is WHY I went to a āprofessionalā. I was given no warning or explanation of what might happen during the process (I now know after speaking with other hairstylists that every stylist should give detailed explanations of what they are doing, what might happen, and alternative color options if the goal isnāt realistic) . I asked for a gentle color remover and instead they used bleach. My hair was literally falling out in my hands and the stylist was rude and defensive when I brought up my concern. I lost so much hair that day. It turned grey/white (not what I asked for) and 2 months later it still wonāt hold color well. The owner did try to fix it, but hair that far gone canāt really be repaired. They also gaslit me into thinking it was my fault (no customer comes in trying to get their hair wreckedā¦) Some of the other stylists (during my follow up conditioning treatments to try to fix it) were clearly pissed that I had complained and got water all over my back and were digging their nails into my head. They were super sarcastic and just bullies. Details about my side of the story blew up on a blog post with hundreds responses from stylists around the world saying that what happened was NOT normal and consequentially ended up on a US SUN article. The Department of Licensure ended up investigating the salon. Just please, go to one of the senior stylists if you plan on going here for anything color relatedā¦. Or go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I used to always tweeze my eyebrows but I find myself having less and less time to do it. A friend of mine Convinced me to go to that threading place in the mall three visits and I will never go back again it was such a train wreck. It hurts badly, which kind of doesn't make any sense, And they do a terrible job. They make the bold assumption that everybody wants super skinny, jack-o'-lantern eyebrows that look like crap. I love how thick my eyebrows are, I just want them cleaned up. I had an event coming up where I needed my eyebrows done so I decided to look at local salons, and I came across Carve. I made an appointment for eyebrow waxing with Jake and I couldn't be happier with the results exclamation point It took about the same amount of time, did not hurt at all, and the results were so much better! It was also the same price as getting them threaded. I will always go back here! the vibe inside is very chic, trendy, and everybody is...
