We needed party tables and chairs. We had first stopped by another rental place first (in south Hadley) and were told they mostly do tools and equipment but if we need party stuff to go to the Taylor Rental in Holyoke. We drove right there and were met by a husband/wife duo. Not only did they have everything we needed (I was looking for very specific sized cocktail tables) but we ended up getting more than what we set out to because the prices were so reasonable! The owner didn't just sit there, he kept going into the back and wheeling out different tables for me to look at to make sure I was getting the ones I wanted. We didn't feel like we were bothering him, he was truly a helpful guy! We needed the tables and chairs for a Saturday party but my husband and I were struggling to figure out when we could pick them up because Friday night was graduation. The owner said, no worry, just pick them up Thursday. He didn't charge us an extra day and we were able to return everything on Monday. The husband/wife duo were hilarious. They told they had been married forty years but love working together. When my husband went to pick up the tables and chairs, there were employees ready to load his truck. When I dropped off the tables and chairs there was an employee ready to unload and the owner also unloaded. The process was easy and they were EASY about everything. If you need party supplies, go to this family owned business! Contrary to my experience with the South Hadley location, this particular location has been a source of frustration and disappointment. During the setup process, I encountered older Joel, who demonstrated rudeness and blamed other employees for incorrectly loading the tent poles. His demeanor was impatient and condescending. A subsequent crew, led by a younger Joel, delivered the correct poles and exhibited a more pleasant attitude. However, they left the tables in my garage, which I ultimately set up myself while attending to a toddler. When I contacted the office on Monday, the scheduled pickup date, I spoke with Charlene, who cited overbooking as the reason for their inability to dismantle the equipment. Notably, my call was placed two hours after the scheduled pickup time, and had I not initiated contact, I would have remained uninformed about the delay. This location would benefit from training in professionalism and courtesy. Due to these experiences, I will not rent from this location again. The one star is for the grille itself. I rented a 3 ft grille for the weekend. Nice grille. They did not give any cleaning tools so I went out and bought some knowing that if I did clean the grille I would receive the $25 cleaning fee Initially I had to pay. I called back on Tuesday to see roughly how many days it takes to receive cleaning fee back because it took me a solid 35 mins to clean the grille after using it. No biggie. The guy said I didn’t clean it which I did confirm it was cleaned with the younger guy that helped me unload the grille. He actually said thanks for doing it.
