I lived in Holyoke for more.than ten years and never visited this spot but always heard good reviews about it. A few weeks back I visited for the first time with a friend of mines. There was a total of 11 people that was there for the almost two hours we spent there. The bartender was nice. She had control over the music and so we asked to play a Spanish song. She asked who? What song is it and what not? As soon as the song started she immediately started asking questions who is that, what was being said, etc...not even a minute into the song playing she said I'm sorry but I cannot play this song nobody here knows Spanish and I don't want to lose my clientele. Get body language was of someone that was so uncomfortable and bothered. My friend and I looked at each other and said telepathically "I believe we are Spanish speakers and also clientele since we've been buying drinks back to back and tipping her for the past hour". I said to her, "you are serious?" And started to laugh because I couldn't believe what she said and the vague, stupid, and racist excuse she gave us. We finish up and got up and left.
