We found this cruise after looking for a sunset cruise that had an open bar with great reviews. We actually booked this cruise online on their website the same day and there was still availability. For the sunset cruise, you check in at 4:30pm at their storefront in the outdoor mall. It is on the second floor and there is a little stand outside their doors to check in. The employee was friendly and checked off our name and instructed us to wait in the area until they were ready to walk over. They also validate your parking at this time if needed. However we were staying in Waikiki so it was only about a 10 minute walk for us. At about 4:45pm we all paraded together with 2 employees over to board the catamaran, it was probably a 5 minute walk through the mall and across the street to the beach. There were around 40 of us in the group. However once we boarded the boat there was enough room for everyone to spread out. The catamaran was beached outside the outrigger reef hotel waiting for us and the other 2 crew members helped us walk up the steps. It is a barefoot boat so you take off your shoes before your board. Once onboard, there are some cubbies by the seats that you can put your things in. It was fun passing by the surfers as we headed out. The bartender/crewmate was super friendly and gave out good vibes. The captain was also friendly and took song requests to play over the speakers. They had 3 different kona beers, bud light, some wine, a champagne, sodas, and then the premade drink which was like a rum and pineapple orange guave juice (POG juice). We set sail exactly at 5pm. Once everyone had their first round, the 2 crew members hoisted the sails and we were off. You can move around however you like. There is a lot of seating in the middle of the boat. Most people stood along the rails on the side. There are two nets up front that you can sit in, however you do get splashed quite a bit up there. You can also sit/stand at the back of the boat where the stairs are, which is where they recommended you sit if you get sea sick/motion sick. You sail up and down the coastline of Waikiki. You get great views of the beaches, hotels, and Diamond Head. The vibes are great with the music playing, the sun setting, the windy blowing, the views, and the drinks. The day we went was quite windy so the ocean was very choppy on the way out as we were going against the wind. You definitely had to hold onto the rails if you were standing up or walking to get another drink. A few people did get sea sick, but the crewmate was extremely helpful and gave them water, told them to sit out the back, and offered them lavender oil to sniff. He also was able to wash the deck if needed. He also checked on them throughout to make sure they were okay. If you prone to any kind of sea sickness, I would not recommend this trip unfortunately, as it is just the nature of the beast of a catamaran on the ocean. Tipping is at your discretion since it is open bar. On our cruise the Kona IPA ran out super quick, so if you are interested be sure to get yours in the first half of the sailing. Exactly at 5:45pm we turned around and headed back, this was a little bit smoother as we were now going with the wind. We got to see the sun set around 6pm ish, and then we headed back along the coastline to where we started. It was cool to see the night lights starting to come on in the city. We arrived back exactly at 6:30pm, so it was exactly 90 minutes that we were sailing. The crew helped us off the boat back onto the beach, and we were set free there. Most everyone walked to the showers to rinse off their feet. Overall I would recommend this excursion as it is one of the only sunset cruises with an open bar, and one that lasted the longest at 90 minutes. Sure it is a little pricey for what it is, but it is in line with similar excursions in the area. The crew was very friendly and welcoming and it was a neat experience to be sailing on the ocean for a beautiful sunset and a beautiful night.

Holokai Catamaran Sunset Cruise Review An Unforgettable Sunset Cruise on Holokai Catamaran on Waikiki Beach As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a canvas of fiery oranges and serene purples, setting the stage for an evening aboard the Holokai Catamaran that I would never forget. The gentle sway of the waves, the soft strumming of island music, and the laughter of fellow adventurers filled the air, creating an ambiance of pure relaxation and joy. The cruise promised unlimited alcohol, and it delivered. With a drink in hand, I watched as the coastline of Waikiki Beach became a silhouette against the twilight sky. The bartenders, masters of their craft, ensured our glasses were never empty, serving a variety of tropical concoctions that added an extra layer of bliss to the experience. But it wasn’t just the drinks that made this cruise unforgettable—it was the spirit of aloha that permeated every moment. The crew, with their warm smiles and genuine kindness, made us feel like ohana from the moment we stepped on board. They shared stories of the sea, pointed out landmarks along the shore, and even helped us spot a pod of dolphins dancing in the distance

I rate this catamaran ride at 3 1/2 stars. It would have been 4 stars if Bridget was nice, and 5 stars if the drinks were a bit stronger. The catamaran ride itself was nice. The boat is clean and in good condition. It has a restroom as well. This catamaran is very large, so it sits up higher from the water than others in the area. You will still get wet (which we love) if you sit on the nets and the water is choppy. The alcoholic drinks are weak but still tasty. The only negative thing we experienced was from one of the employees. The way their excursion works is that everyone meets in the hotel shop at their reserved time. She then has everyone gather right outside the shop in the lobby, explains the ride, and walks everyone to a line on the beach to board the boat. The group we were in was large, and I was on the outer edge, she had already begun speaking and when she was done, she asked if there were any questions, and I raised my hand and asked if sitting on the nets was ok. She looked at me and said, "Well, if you had listened to what I said... you have to sit on the seats, and then when the boat gets moving, you can move to the nets." I was listening, but she wasn't speaking loudly and had already started speaking before the entire group gathered. There really wasn't a need to be rude and say "Well if you had listened..." So after that, we all followed her to the line on the beach, and there was another catamaran (run by a different company) running a bit late so they didn't pull off the shore right away. Everyone had to stand in line a good 10 to 15 minutes before our boat could dock and board us. It seems they rotate which boat is on shore to load passengers. As I was walking up the steps to board, I asked her about what time she thought we'd be back and with no smile or any friendliness she said, "You booked a ninety minute ride, so... NINETY MINUTES." Jeeze, I just asked because their boat was running late. She could have easily smiled and said, "You should get back by 4:40, 4:45." I didn't have a watch, and we didn't leave at our reserved time, so I had no idea of the return time. Besides her being unprofessional and unfriendly, it was a fun ride. Maybe she was just...

The trip and boat was the best ! Captain was the bomb very patient and chase was amazing showing us the turtles and everyone was great on the boat ! I would totally recommend if you didn’t have to deal with some of the other staff. As for the staff in the office not so much. The female manager was not friendly At all and very rude ! Don’t remember her name My dad is handicap, we even have handicap sticker and he forgot his crutches in the car but he still wanted to go so we were following the manager and she clearly DISCRIMINATE against handicap Seniors! She Saw him hobbling on one foot barely making it on the walk to the boat . I i even told her he forgot his crutches but he js going to try because he really wanted to go with his grandson . I was even trying to help him and he finally stopped and Gave up because he was in so much pain to walk all the way so he called a Uber and left. I called later that day to try to get a refund since the female manager clearly saw he couldn’t not make it on the walk and the girl who answered the phone tells me oh the manager wrote a big note here saying don’t refund you ! I said she saw him struggling and couldn’t hardly walk since he forgot the crutches and she said well she is the manager and wrote this big note ! Like wow is that how you guys treat handicap people !! I was in shock. So if i didn’t have to deal with that it would have been 5 stars ! And by the way i do live here and was really Shocked at the way she treated a handicap person...
