약 2주 전에 이 레스토랑에서 겪었던 경험을 공유하고 싶습니다. 한 마디로 정리하자면, '최악은 아니지만 저녁식사로는 다시는 가고 싶지 않은 식당' 입니다.

I'd like to share an experience I had at this restaurant about two weeks ago. In a nutshell, it's "not the worst, but a place I wouldn't want to have dinner again." It was my girlfriend's 21st birthday dinner. We were tired but wanted to try alcohol officially for the first time on her 21st birthday, so we went to the hotel's restaurant. The service wasn't bad. The server seated us right in front of the performance stage, so we could enjoy the show. The food took quite a while, but we could munch on the nachos that came first while waiting. (The nachos were reasonably priced and tasted great. We also ordered drinks, which took longer than expected.) When the food finally arrived, we were excited but soon disappointed. It was barely edible. The steak (pork chop) we ordered tasted like it was made solely of salt, not seasoned but just salty. It was so salty that it was bitter. My girlfriend, being an American but a vegetarian, couldn't taste it herself but remarked that American food is generally either very salty or sweet. Living in the US, I know that American food tends to have strong flavors, but this was beyond that—it was simply inedible. I wanted to call the server to complain immediately but didn't want to ruin my girlfriend's birthday atmosphere. I tried to eat it with the rice that came with her dish, but it was still too salty. My girlfriend also took a bite and found her "Create Your Own Bowl" dish tasteless. She described it as "chewing on texture with no flavor." At this point, she started to think something might be wrong with my food too, especially since the father at the table next to us was also complaining about his steak. This reassured my girlfriend that my taste was not the issue.

We ordered a few items, including cocktails, and the total came to $140, including tip. The second picture shows the food when it arrived, and the third picture is after we “finished dinner." After the server cleared our plates, they brought a small piece of cake to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, which was a nice gesture. The nachos, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake were the only tasty items. As we left, we joked that we had the "most expensive nachos, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake for dinner" and that a "$140 nacho and mashed potato meal is something we could only experience in Hawaii." We should have had dinner at Monkeypod Kitchen next door, enjoying the ocean view.

Additionally, I'm curious why the server, who received the tip and acknowledged that other tables had the same complaints about the food, only responded with "I've informed the kitchen of the issue" and still charged us the full price. I was disappointed that they didn't try to resolve the issue, but my girlfriend enjoyed the complimentary cake, so I'll leave a...

This review is not for the entire service, food, staff, or restaurant as a whole.

I just got off of a sunset sail cruise, and decided to walk to this nearby restaurant. It had decent reviews and had some great seafood choices that attracted me here. Me and my lady went here, and the service itself was initially great.

I got the ahi wrap and my lady got the coconut shrimp. Both were great. Service was awesome as well. They had great music going too (especially on a Monday).

Unfortunately, right after I tipped the band playing music...I got asked to leave by a manager (I think). I went back to my table to prepare to leave and before I could even pay, I got asked leave the restaurant so they could 'clean up the table'. She was a tall blonde lady. I have no clue what that was about, or the real reasoning behind her actions.

I'm a 26 year old humble adult and had never been asked to leave a restaurant in my life. I thought, maybe I had been there too long? But their were people at tables beside me that had been their longer than I (since I arrived). She honestly asked me to leave, before I had even paid my check? I politely (and stunned) said that we were waiting on the Check. I honestly was Waiting on the check for about 10-15 min but figured I'd be nice and be patient since they seemed to be busy.

I was blown away. Clearly the lady in management was confused and didn't really understand that I was waiting to for the check to leave? Unfortunately, this particular situation altered every honest opinion that I had for the restaurant prior to this. I'm sure anyone else would feel the same.

This place would have gotten a solid 4/5 if it weren't for this abnormal awkward moment. I hope that this gets to the right person to pass on info on how important customer service is. No one in the right mind wants to have this experience, let alone...

Located in the Outrigger Reef hotel, this dining area is really tables by the poolside.  The attraction was the availability of table reservations on short notice, but also the live Hawaiian music during dinner.  The hotel looks like it’s currently under renovations, and is far off the main venue of Waikiki and a bit confusing to find.

We did have Open Table reservations which worked great, and were show right to our table on time.  Table service was well timed and never felt rushed through our meal, however the meals and atmosphere fell below expectations.  The appetizer of Ahi Poke & Avocado appetizer and Bread Pudding dessert were both well prepared, but the entrees rated poor to good.  The Huli Huli chicken and West Oahu Garden Napoleon were both fairly average on both flavors and presentations.  The Soft Shell Crab wrap was poorly executed, with the crab tempura battered and fried, but then placed inside a moist wrap causing the crab to lose all sense of crispness.  In addition, several bites of the wrap contained harder part of the shell, which made it difficult to enjoy.  The grilled New York steak was prepared with an over abundance of garlic and butter, and didn’t resemble a strip steak, but more of a center cut, and cooked beyond the temperature requested.  Nothing on the entrees made them inedible, but expectations from similar dishes were very different.

Overall, with the poolside table seating in the center court of the hotel, and the overall entrée experience, we probably would find a different place to enjoy a dinner in Waikiki.

Hints for your visit: If you are looking for the live music, check with staff on the music times and request early to sit close to the...

Pool-side bar / grille at the Outrigger. Considering this, the food was actually really good. The fresh catch tacos were flavorful. The meatball pasta was really well done. And the smoothies were again well above average. We weren't expecting this caliber of food at a pool-side establishment so overall quite satisfied here. And in general, the atmosphere is great as well. Nestled in the "courtyard" of the hotel, you are well protected from the lobby crowd and the street side bustling but around a good crowd. The live music was also quite good except we happened to be seated right in front of the speaker which absolutely rattled our brains. Hawaiian singing is calming but not when you have these massive speakers blasting at your skull so watch out for where you sit. Don't sit too close to the stage. Again, not too much of the restaurant's fault as they would like to echo the music throughout the property. Just that we weren't able to enjoy our time there. My issue was with their service. Every time the server would go into the kitchen, to either grab food or whatever, he'd disappear for ever. Either the kitchen is far away or there must be some other choke point. Combine this with ear-deafening music and it inches towards torture. Likely won't return but it doesn't mean that others shouldn't enjoy. It definitely does certain things well. Price is "expensive" but apropos for Waikiki standards.
