Upon early arrival we were met with all smiles fromšthešentirešstaff!
We are part of the Wyndham family/ownership. We stayed in room 509, where we were highly impressed with everything that was so meticulously planned out by the staff, so as to meet the needs of anyone staying at the resort. They thought of everything. Other than buying your food and beverage to bring back to your room...everything else imaginable was right there in our room for use at our fingertips, just like as if we were at home! Truly ...our room was like being in a condo. Whoever the engineer was that planned the layout, utilized every square inch and usable corner so that everything you could imagine came with the room. My husband and I couldn't stop boasting just how much we loved ā¤ļø our room. The Aloha God's must have blessed šš¾ us from the very moment we stepped onto the resort grounds.
We visited from December 03, 2022 to December 08, 2022. We almost extended our stay because we enjoyed the Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk Resort that much!
Everything was within walking distance. We didn't feel the need to get a rental car. We used the 'Roberts Hawaii' shuttle from the airport to the resort, and, then we also went on the Roberts Hawaii Island š Tour all around O'ahu through the Wyndham on a Party š„³ Weekend Getaway that we were offered. It was a fabulous deal to one of our most memorable āØļø and special vacations. We were lucky enough to met the Hawaiian legend, Don Ho's granddaughter, Kulia Ho-Henry, who works for the Wyndham and she's also a flight attendant with Hawaiian Airlines. Talk about a real sweetheart, we fell in love š„° with Kulia just like she was our own daughter. 'Don Ho Avenue' named after her grandfather is just a block away from the resort, and his statue is nearby as well.
If you haven't been to Waikiki Beach, or to the Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk Resort, you need to book your reservations "NOW!" Tell them that Belinda Ky and James Scarlett told you to ask for room 509!š
Everything for the most part that is local is within walking distance. There's a Denny's 1 block away, or an IHOP about 4-5 blocks in the opposite direction. Otherwise there are plenty of little specialty shops and restaurants all over the area. There's 'Roy's' right across from Denny's, which is a little pricey, but very delicious food. Then there's the 'Yard House' across the street (ask for Juli; she was our waitress who was filled with so much personality!) and down in the International Market area we ate at the 'Paia Fish Market' which had delicious fish š and chips š, as well as their teriyaki šchicken with seasoned rice was delicious, too...and get an order of their tasty onion rings (veryš yummy)! And, 'Glace Cafe' is right next door to the resort that has ice cream, French crepes, and sandwiches made on croissants! There's also 'Giovanni's' that is rather pricey, but it's a restaurant in front; sports bar on the backside. They have Italian food, and, they claim to have the best pastrami sandwiches on the island! Then there's also somewhat pricey sandwiches š„Ŗ of a variety of different kinds and other miscellaneous foods; salads š„ of all sorts and desserts/bakery sweets at one of the many 'ABC Store(s)' all over the island. There's actually one right across the street from the resort, and one down by Denny's. Let's not forget ... the Beach ā±ļø Walk š¶šæāāļø š¶š¼āāļøis only about 2 blocks away from Denny's. It's right by the United States Army Museum. There's some friendly Hawaiian tortoises š¢ who come upclose to get kelp and seaweed from the rocks (but, you can take pictures šø of them; but DO NOT TOUCH--- IT'S AGAINST THE LAW).
š¤Enjoy your stay.š Alohašš¼andšŗMahaloš“to all!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThings that are great: First off, the staff was top notch. Each person was eager to help and had welcoming vibes. Next, It has a fantastic location easily walkable to the beach, and also walkable to the main strip and tons of happening stores and restaurants and other wonderful hotels that are also on the beach. |The "not as impressive" list is short but worth noting. We stayed in a newly renovated room and it was nice that everything is basically new. The quality of the renovations are at the level of a normal decent hotel. Wyndham seems to have lowered their usually impressive standards and while everything in the room is fine, it is not amazing. |We stayed in a 2 bedroom and each room had a small balcony which was great..each bedroom had a small bathroom with only one sink, very little counter space and a smallish shower and bathtub. The master did not have a closet, just an armoire and a tv stand with 2 drawers. It would be a challenge for 2 people to have their clothes and toiletries in those spaces.|Definitely worth noting is that the thermostats are pretty much just ornamental. When our thermostat stayed at 74-75 no matter what we set it at, we called the front desk and they sent maintenance. He told us that the thermostats are on motion sensors. So when there is no motion in the room, they default to 75. I would have been OK with that except that it does not cool down very fast or really much at all. At night when we slept, it defaulted to 75 unless I got warm and checked it at which time it turned on because I had triggered the motion sensor. So if you are OK with getting out of bed every 30-45 minutes to trigger the motion sensor of the thermostat, you will be fine. If not, nights will be at 75 degrees. |The pool is not finished and no one was working on it this week when we were here. The hot tub is available and small but nice.|Overall, the location is fantastic, and I loved the staff, but it seems like they cut corners on this location during the renovations making it fine but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe renovated rooms were quite nice but there was many cons about it that had bugged me and my family. The pull-out bed from the couch had sand on it, which was quite disturbing to think that it would not be cleaned properly and there was strange stains on one of the showers curtains. The shower with the glass door however, was very small and very claustrophobic coming from someone who isnāt really big in size. The more uncomfortable part of this hotel was the genuine pushing and bugging for our family to go and have this long, several-hour meeting trying to lure our hotel-timeshare owners with āfree-wristbandsā and usually ending up with them urging the timeshare owners to buy something, knowing this from other experiences in Wyndham Hotels, it was very disturbing where we had to unplug our phone unit. Although the worse part is that they had tracked us down; we had walked down to the lobby to go somewhere and one of the staff called one of our main timeshare owners out telling us to come back up from the escalator to get our wristbands making it seem urgent, although we had to ignore them, the pushiness of the staff was disturbing, especially because they knew who we were like we were being watched, havenāt had interacting with them before. Before this as well, one of our members had answered the phone and the staff on the other line made it seem URGENT to go down there immediately so they felt forced to go down and talk to the staff, upon arrival to the lobby they were questioned and asked where our main timeshare owners were. Although the poor boundary behavior from the staff, the location of the hotel was perfect for if you wanted to grab a bite or go shopping. Most of the room, despite some flaws, was quite nice as well. I would come back here, although Iād hope for a better experience with the staff, as my family has never felt more uncomfortable passing hotel staff. I usually donāt make detailed reviews like this, but this seems like a situation that needs to come to light...
