I took Mom here in January of 2023. I was excited to get my own service in July 2023. I did not post my review because it was not great. The owner, Frank reached out to me yesterday to ask why I have not been back, I gave him my review and debated about posting this. But after reading some of the latest posts on gals getting their pedicure, I felt that I should also add my experience. My manicure was nice. But they did push the gel on me as another reviewer shares, which I had no idea is super hard to take off. The pedicure was horrible. Same as recent reviewers that they had problems with the technician working on their big toe. For whatever reason, she was determined to pull a piece of skin from the side of my right big toe nail. It bled and bled and bled and bled and bled and the technician had to put some kind of antiseptic on it, and she kept saying sorry. This was my first experience of a technician pulling I guess a hangnail that was so deeply embedded in my toe. Normal pedicure for me, is the technician just cleans up the skin around the nail, so this was crazy for me. The area was swollen and aching for over a week and I was terrified I would get an infection. I kept spraying it with antiseptic when I got home and days after. I did not get an infection but that part of my toe, where she pulled and pulled the piece of skin out, has never felt normal. I wanted to share my experience with my horrible pedicure at this place. The place does look clean and the give you tea or water and the techs are nice and I do agree, that maybe they are not trained well. This girl also did my eyebrow waxing which I was very happy with. She should not have been doing any pedicures. When I went it was very busy. I was told in a text that the owner has brought on new people. But I am never going back there. I would rather go to places recommended by my close friends that they have consistent good work. This was my first review and I did not get a service. Needed to find a clean place to take mom. Found the great reviews. Was able to get an appointment same day and service was professional & fast! Will be coming back to get service for myself. Definitely recommend! This place looks newly renovated and it’s big…really...
Read moreI regret coming to this salon. Do not come here for a pedicure, I honestly wouldn’t come here period. I was the only customer in the salon which should have been the first red flag. I told them I was ok with polish instead of gel, but a younger man had me wait a while so he could came up to me 4 more times to tell me I should get gel, and kept trying to pressure me into getting gel instead of polish, I kindly told him I was fine with polish since it was an additional almost $20 for one gel color. while the lady was doing my pedicure I noticed I felt uncomfortable while she was working on my big toe but I brushed it off because I was just trying to enjoy my pedicure. after my pedicure was done, the same guy came back and told me I had to wait extra long for the polish to dry, and then started mumbling about how I should have gotten gel and not polish. I sat there for almost 25 minutes and when I decided I’ve waited long enough, my polish was drier than dry, the whole salon staff made it a bigger deal saying I have to wait longer because “the polish takes extra long to dry”, then the same guy told me again that I should have gotten gel instead of polish, then proceeded to tell me I should walk outside in these funky, paper thin styrofoam, homemade sandals that they gave me. It was pouring outside and the parking lot was surrounded in big puddles. I of course thanked him but told him I will be walking out in my socks and shoes because of the rain and puddles, and reassured him again that my polish was completely try and I was just going straight home anyways. That’s not even the worst part, the worst part is that I now have some sort of toe infection 🤢 DO NOT...
Read moreI've been here multiple times & now I feel like can finally write a honest review. Where to start? First, I'd like to point out that with every visit, I've left feeling satisfied & I like that they've remained consistent with their services. Appointments are easy & very convenient to request on their website & walk-ins are also available. Parking lot is accommodating, plenty & free! You can avoid the traffic cones of rail construction fronting Dillingham Blvd by entering the back side on Kaumualii St. Ambiance is bright, clean & they keep their music & chatter at a decent volume. They have a private bathroom located at the far end row of stores right after the laundromat- just ask for the keys. As for their services, I've tried multiple- acrylics (mani/pedi), gel-x & builder gel (mani). I'm pretty basic with my designs too as I prefer French tips or natural colors, so I can't write about intricate/trendy designs- although I've peeked at other patrons sitting next to me & the techs be slayinnn (check out their IG page @milinailstwo). Not much of a talker myself so I don't expect conversations. I try to come at least once a month, when I get a proper day off from 2 jobs, so I'm often nodding off my tiredness in my chair so I appreciate that that they let me be. I like that they fully disclose prices of their services, confirm services before proceeding & don't try to upsell you anything. They also ensure quality by repeatedly asking about your comfort, nails shape, size & color- making sure it's to your liking. I'm open to trying their lash services on my next visit, so I'll update this...
