Our flight to Moloka’i was rescheduled less than 24 hours before our flight via an email only, but 3 hours earlier which was before our connecting flight arrived (and therefore impossible). Our flight would subsequently be moved, delayed or rescheduled a total of 7 times over the day of the flight, not related to weather. They said that they would try and get us on a flight in the evening, but “didn’t know” if any more flights were operating that day, or where their planes were. One of their planes broke down in front of us and resulted in one of our cancellations, which is concerning in itself. Another was out of service for a different issue.
Customer service is also not helpful; the left hand had no idea what the right hand was doing and they were unable to give us any answers. Every time we called them, it was an additional 20 minute wait and nobody at the airport could help us directly with customer service. They said they’re “not in charge of anything” and everything has to go though the routing center in Florida. We eventually made it, but it was the most unnecessarily complicated and uncoordinated airline I’ve ever encountered.
Our return flight went uneventfully and our pilot was very nice, which is why they earned their second star back.
After talking to other people and locals, they said the airline is basically always late, but has no incentive to fix their problems or engage in customer service because they are the only option for...

I don't understand how this place is rated so high. I fly with them often They are CONSTANTLY late. Plan accordingly if you have connections or appointments. To make matters worse, they have this odd habit of super delaying one flight, presumably to get 8 bad reviews rather than 40 mediocre reviews. The problem then is if you have a connection or an appointment, you're screwed while everyone else is baseline late 30+ minutes. Which is odd, because being the only airline servicing Molokai, they don't need good reviews. We're stuck with them either way.
The staff is as helpful as they can be, which isn't much through no fault of their own. The system prevents them from doing tasks as simple as changing you to an earlier flight as you check in.
They have another habit of moving your flight around seemingly arbitrarily the day before. I missed a connection with them because they moved my flight an hour early. I had the good fortune of overhearing it was because they picked up a charter, so they don't act like a scheduled airline at all
I've known this airline since I was gate agent and baggage handler at age 17 when they were a two plane operation out of Kona, and they have NOT matured well. The fact that my review earlier today disappeared, might solve why they're so highly rated.
If another airline opens up with service to Molokai, choose them. Broke-u-lele is just playing at...
Read moreCool little airlines that does interisland flights around Hawai'i. Check-in is straight forward and easy. If you have never flown small aircraft before, educate yourself before doing so.
Pack smart and light as space is limited for both checked and carry on baggage. The plane is small and not easy to get into if you have knee/back issues. The terminal is an overhang between two trailers so no A/C and limited overhead cover from rain/sunshine. You will be be asked your weight when you check in...so weigh yourself and be honest when you check in. No one cares if you're 10lbs heavier than your high school playing days. Your weight is for balancing the aircraft...so don't lie unless you want to run the risk of crashing an aircraft. After check in, when the plane is ready, you walk to the plane and clim in. No jetramp here!
There are bathrooms on site, a soda machine and a snack machine. Parking is limited at the terminal (Terminal 3) so you can park in the garage and take the Wikiwiki Shuttle from the garage as needed.
Enjoy this little airline and their old school terminal. Flying out of here is one of the few places where you still walk to the plane at a major airport. It's a cool deal, enjoy!
The two pictures:
One is of the aircraft on the ramp (with the pilot walking towards us) and the second photo is taken from the parking lot towards...
