*Update 2/28/2025 (6 years later) I really thought I had moved on until whoever the person responding is decided to lie about my review! The fact of the matter is that I DID call a long time ago after a spate of their commercials being all over the TV like a cheap suit. I finally decided it was a good deal and that's why I called and talked to the worst receptionist in the world, from what I remember. Now this guy has the nerve to come back here and say that it my review is fake when it isn't, LOL! To the genius who decided to respond to this 72 months later, you know Google sends the reviewer a notification when someone responds to their review, right? Apparently not.
IDK how you thought it would be better to come on this platform and contradict something instead of just saying "Hey so sorry we dropped the ball and missed out on your business, maybe we can give it another try if you're ever looking again." Instead, you went with option B which was to prove that you're still actively not in control of your own business but maybe someone told you that you should respond to all the negative reviews you've amassed over the years. Also - it's apparent that you think Yelp is going to save you over your measly 10 reviews on Google. Unfortunately, for you, the Google reviews hold more SEO value. Anyone wondering what the problems are/were with SHH can see the common themes in all the reviews from then until now. Still think I'm fake?
Poor customer service. After seeing their commercials for solar backup systems, I called to get cost info, etc. A female answered who seemed confused about everything I asked, then promised to have the owner email me later that night or the next day. Read moreI had an opportunity to interact with Paul K. and it was a comforting experience. He is willing to listen to my concerns, knowledgeable about possible solutions, patience to communicate back and forth, resourceful to offer a few vendors / agencies to deal with various sides of my problems. After all, he was not a pushy sales person, he showed more interest in the customer's benefit than for him to get a project done.
So I have solar service with another company and I was suspecting some deficiencies. The company I had contracted with was slow in their response and could not provide solutions in a timely manner. I contacted several solar repair companies with my concerns and Paul was the first to respond. He asked relevant questions, gave logical assessment, provided me several ways to approach the problem identification process, and he was very articulate to the entire communication process.

Read moreOur solar water heater was leaking in May and we called Solar Help Hawaii based on Yelp reviews. A service technician came out and told us we would have to replace the tank AND the panel. He was on site for 30 minutes max. We just received a bill dated August 7, 2022 for $89 for a service call on May 19, 2022.
I understand that no one comes out to give a free estimate, but it should not take almost 3 months to send a bill. Make sure you know what costs are involved and when and if you will be invoiced.
BTW...we called a different company and the service technician replaced the water heater and used the same panels. The other technician said the panels were fine and just a metal plate had come off which he replaced. Dunno why Solar Help Hawaii tried to get us to...
