Pizza from the Philippines? What does that even mean?? Well that's what Yellow Cab is. I was curious to try this new pizza place that opened up last week that happens to be right across Iwilei Costco pizza. Hmmm...
The place is clean and had a good amount of tables to eat at. Service was ok; they were nice but there were a lot of workers who were just standing around.
So what do they have? They have pizza, pasta, chicken wings, pasta and a couple of salads. They have something called rolled pizza rolls and craft pizza.
We didn't know what we wanted, so we just walked in and ordered at the counter. It took about 20 minutes for our food to go so I suggest calling in ahead of time.
They have 3 sizes for their pizzas 10 inch, 14 inch and 18 inch. We got an 18 inch. My boyfriend and I like different toppings so they let us do half garden special and half BBQ chicken. You can only do half and half on an 18 inch and same price.
The BBQ sauce was a bit sweet. The garden special was good but I wish it had more veggies. The crust was interesting, it wasn't thin or thick but reminded me of a Diogiorno pizza crust. My boyfriend also got Parmesan garlic chicken wings which he said were ok but not as fall off the bone as he would have liked.
Overall, reasonably priced and worth the few more dollars than...
Read moreThe overall vibe is pretty chill with its city/graffiti/NYC decor but holy moly garlic breath (that's right breath, not bread) so careful ordering if it's date night! We had a prosciutto ham and herb cheese pizza and chicken alfredo for about $20. The food was casual and the taste fit the price point though far from "broke da mout” flavorful. It was odd that we ordered chicken alfredo and they asked, "spaghetti noodle or penne pasta", fettuccine was not an option, so we got spaghetti noodles. The chicken is kind of rubbery but not terrible. Pasta is served on an actual dish for dining in. Pizza was good - far from classic in the sense that there was no marinara. Crust was thin and crispy. Maybe one slice of prosciutto on the whole pizza but overall it was flavorful. Food is on the greasy side but I figured casual pizza and pasta. Service was prompt. The cashiers were polite and patient as we went to the side before ordering while undecided. Lots of tables but none were particularly clean. There are high chairs. Would I come back?...well, personally I'd see how long the line is at Costco first and decide where I'd prefer to wait for a pizza and how...
Read moreI had a simple pepperoni pizza while my wife had the Dream Darla pizza with the white sauce. My pizza wasn't that bad as the flavor was there and it definitely had pepperoni in every bite. However, after the first bite, my tongue started tingling from the saltiness of the pizza. My wife's pizza was a big disappointment to her. The flavor didn't mesh with her and the crust was drenched with oil. She couldn't stomach it after a few pieces and ended up throwing the rest of the pizza away. Between the 2 pizzas, and pizzas alone, I'd give it a 2 star rating, but when you add in the customer service there, I bump it up another star because everyone there was super friendly and nice and that always pulls weight with our rating. If it were based on customer service alone, it would definitely be a 4-5 star rating, but we came to eat food pizza and so far, the only place that delivers on quality is Pieology...
