This is a great family oriented environment. They even have free range chickens and baby chicks running around. The water was amazing. The surroundings were well shaded, as well as plenty of sun. And the food trucks are great as well.

I wouldn't recommend you having a reunion with your family their, but it's ok to meet up and or talk with someone a friend or someone you know.

I swear that the park was much bigger but I was just a kid. If you look over where the skate border's ramp is? They used to be Sumo Wrestling 🎴 right there we would go to watch. A few martial arts people held their classes there 🥋. Dog Shows card playing basically gambling. Nana's with food to sell and the fish man, his fish was large and it was going for $5.00? For some that was a bit high? Maybe more, aku or you could go across the street where the open fish market was. My 1st Hula Show was there right after the stage was built. Aunty Lei gosh She was so pleasant. That was so long ago. The manapua man with 2 big cans tied to a stick that went across his back. You could smell the food from afar, you knew it was Him and his bell🔔. He was the Strongest Chinese man who ever lived. You can also find someone selling leis or flowers 🌹. Fresh fruits papaya, guava, 5 finga, well that's how we said it. And people sleeping under the tree for so many just didn't want to be inside. I too slept there, it was a safe...

I see a lot of homeless people hang out there, until the police tell them to move on. I would'nt go there to see anything that nice to look at. People that have the right to sit there, but not to hang out there. But I must say there 'S a great breeze that comes down from the mountain s.of NUUANU. THE ONLY THING I LIKE IS THE Breeze that there every day, all day long!!Thank you for the notices that department is only keeping it clean. People do sell drugs in that area. The spelling for Nuuanu is correct. I SHOULD KNOW CAUSE I WAS RAISED IN KAILUA , WE'D HAVE TO GO OVER THE Pali to get home if we went to Honolulu. There were this old stories about going over the Pali at around 12:00 midnight, that the menehunes will stop your car until you threw out the pork that s in your car.Menehunes are small hawaiian Smurfs like small people that ruled the area of the Pali. Ok that's About it for this story!Thank you for the notices that I...

Considering the history of A'ala Park, it is certainly on its way to returning to the majesty of the Royals. Two years ago, the homeless, drug dealers, and alcoholics had overrun the park. When I went there two days ago, there were only four people in the park, no shopping carts and tents, the trash was picked up, and it was peaceful. My friend and I sat on a bench and talked for a great length of time...relaxed, laughing, and the environment was peaceful! What a difference!!! *Four Months Later...the tents and shopping carts, drugs and alcohol are back...almost as bad as it was before the last sweep. I am very disappointed that it is almost as bad as it was. What is the point of the city posting signs that say "No tents, no camping, no shopping carts"? Rules without enforcement are just wishes!!! It...
