I live out of state, but I made a purchase while I was back home in Pennsylvania. The non-perishable, unopened item needed to be returned, but I didn't have time to stop by before I headed back to Ohio. I gave my mother the item and the receipt for her to process the return for me. However, the store and its managers refused to return the money to my card, give cash or even store credit for the return, claiming that they needed my debit card in order to do anything. I somewhat understand that not all systems allow for the card reimbursement without swiping, however to refuse cash or even worse store credit is utterly ridiculous. Clearly their system needs an update as I've done many returns in other stores where the card was not needed. More importantly they need to review their policy as it now negatively affects their customer service. The bedrock of great customer service is resourcefulness. A merchant should always be looking to solve their customer's problem. Refusing to find a way to satisfy the customer by providing cash or store credit means that the store couldn't care less about the issue at hand. In return, I don't feel valued as a customer at all. I'll probably make the drive up or down broadhead for now on to handle my grocery needs when I'm visiting...
Read moreI like the store, they always have what I need and more. My problem is with the Deli Dept., and it's not the deli meat. It's a couple of the deli workers. On a weeknight around 5:30, with snow coming. It was busy. One scowling man with a bad attitude and another mopping the same spot on the floor over and over. Watching me & others wait and wait and well you get it. Scowling man, slow as molasses. The other didn't want to work. Not my first experience either with the deli dept. What the what is up with management. It's family owned, maybe they're favorites I don't know. I noticed there's a big turnover in employee's too. Bad management and bad employee's can sink a business people. I heard Aldi's is moving in. I don't want to loose Kuhn's, but if your nasty to your customers we...
Read moreShow up at 10:35 a.m. to buy 6 pounds of isalys chipped ham for a few former pittsburghers. Nobody other than me at the deli counter. Was told I was supposed to call in order because it was a lot of work. Clerk slaps down 4lbs precut and bagged. Two clerks talk about how inconvenient this is and one tells me that this is inappropriate to order this amount without calling in. I apologize for the inconvenience, tell her I have to run to the beer store ask when would be a convenient time to come back. Says she can't estimate because it's a lot of work and takes time. Automatic slicer. Slaps 2lb on the counter at 10:38. 3 minutes to cut 2lbs.and cops an attitude. Remedial customer service should be required. Some folks might be grateful...
