Great books but what makes this place really special is the owner. If you have a child that you need to get a gift for then this is the place. Walk in and let her know what/who you are looking for and you'll get some fantastic options. Concerned that you'll get a local child a book they already have, don't worry if they show at Bear and the Books as they keep a list of already purchased items for the child. BONUS: Pay in cash and exact change and get a special surprise.

I was welcomed in by the shop's owner, Bobbie Fishman, and chatting with her was in itself worth the visit. Learn her story while there.
In the end I had to limit myself to three books, but every shelf warrants a day's visit. Bobbie is selective in her curation and rightfully so. All titles I took home were ones she had featured; I'm convinced she can anticipate who will walk through that door and sets out just what...
