We discovered this historic train station on a summer walk around Hopewell. The train no longer stops in Hopewell, though trains still pass through the town. We heard their whistles blow as we explored the grounds. The station building is now open only for event rentals. We enjoyed relaxing on their 2 outdoor benches with our dog. There is also a Free Little Library that was well-stocked with fiction paperbacks. We took a photo of the Station's historic marker with more details about...

This beautiful station was built by the Delaware and Bound Brook Railroad in 1876. Not far from here was the site of the Frog War between the D&BB railroad and the Mercer and Somerset Railroad. Interestingly, when this station was built there were 2 rail lines here. One to the north of the station that’s still present today and another to the south, the Mercer and Somerset, which no...

The place is rented out for private parties. That's what we were there for. The trains continue to go by all day which is fun to watch. The room is like an empty train depot & must be decorated and the party be catered. ...

Beautiful old station that is currently undergoing restoration and, as such, is surrounded by fencing. Still a grand old gal, and the visit was fantastic. A freight train rumbled by, and there's a Little Free Library! I love those!

Beautiful old station that is currently undergoing restoration and, as such, is surrounded by fencing. Still a grand old gal, and the visit was fantastic. A freight train rumbled by, and there's a Little Free Library! I love those!
