Best Bagel Shop & cafe — Restaurant in Houston

Generally a pretty mid experience. The whole place has kinda pop-up/ghost-kitchen vibes. I didn't see or hear or smell any evidence that the bagels are baked on site, and it seems to be staffed by one guy who takes orders, toasts and assembles sandwiches, and makes espresso drinks. So the service isn't very fast, and in the 10 minutes we waited for a pretty basic order (toasted bagel with cream cheese) I didn't see anyone or anything come out of the kitchen. Compare to a place like Hot Bagel Shop on Shepherd that has like a dozen staff and a constant stream of bagels coming out of the kitchen at all hours. I had the pleasure of visiting best bagel shop, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The bagels are absolutely delicious – perfectly fresh, soft on the inside, with just the right amount of crunch on the outside. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every single one. Definitely could use a spruce up as far as freshness or quality of the bagel itself… but the staff, the spreads, the meal was pretty good! And we would come back!

As for advice on the new establishment:

I give 5 stars because the staff seemed to care about the experience and the food was just about average… to take it above they need a bit more quality into the bagel itself.

The coffee, in all honesty, should be taken off the menu or revised by a barista to be taught how to be made correctly. Coffee not being a specialty, I wouldn’t put it against them, but it could definitely help give a slight push...
