IF YOU HAVE KIDS. READ THIS.
Before i even get into my review. Lets note that their HUGE lit up sign outside says "NO WAIT".... 🙄 let that sink in as you read this review...... its a long one. But WORTH reading if you care about your kids.
Now... onto my review.... we arrived at 825am for my son's 830am appt. They told us to arrive at 830am. We checked into a building without any seats for us to sit in. And then more people came. And more..... and more.....staff bringing out chairs for more people. by 1030am, only two people had been called back... so i asked what was going on. I was told that TWO kids were ahead of us.... Not sure why we made an appt if we won't be seen anywhere near that time... around 1130am we were called back. Finally. And then we sat in that area for TWO more hours. In that time. Nurses came to explain everything. We were told he WOULDNT need a tube down his throat... which is great. Because it can cause issues. Especially with their throat and their voice box.... and then anesthesia came to tell us the OPPOSITE of what we were just told.... he WOULD have a tube in his throat.🤦♀️ and then shortly after the nurse came to get him. She was sweet. We were told that they would do extra xrays after they took him. About 20mins after he was taken, we were told that he needed a tooth on the SIDE of his mouth pulled... OK... I was scared for him. But I almost expected this.... When he came out, it was his FRONT tooth...so obviously not great at communicating with each other.... i was in SHOCK. Especially since they told me a SIDE tooth. On another note..... I had to almost yell that he was CHOKING on his own spit and blood as the nurse is trying to hold his mask ON. 🤦♀️ they start sucking the THICK saliva and blood from his mouth and literally make him gag by shoving the sucking tube down his throat..... So now my son has a bad wheeze and gurgling sound from his chest. I am sure that is from the tube vs the sucking. But I doubt any of that helped the situation..... In my OPINION, they simply want kids in and out as quickly(maybe not quickly.....) and dont care how their teeth look afterwards. They literally don't care what a kids mouth looks like 😒 they did their "job". My son had the cutest set of teeth. They left him with gaps and now a missing front tooth. So needless to say..... Altus Dental is the one who sent us there..... Other DR offices should NOT be sending them more patients. They don't NEED more patients. They NEED more staffing. And more professional people working there. We ended up leaving at 330pm.....
SEVEN HOURS in that building.... SEVEN!!!! No wait???? Someone should sue them JUST because of their "no wait" claim. 🤷♀️
Off topic, but very important - The lady who was greeting everyone was amazing and deserves a RAISE. She does so much for that building that Im sure isn't even her job. She deserves way more than what she makes. She was the sweetest. She was constantly moving and doing things. Getting people...
Read moreI will never go back to emergency room again. I came in for heart palpitations and other concerns. After testing, one doctor walked in my room so fast to tell me, my test were normal and there is nothing they can do in this emergency room. With my other emergency concern, the Doctor did not do a thorough check at all! Didn’t check the inside of my mouth, breathing or heart. As I started to explain what was going on. He told me, in his words, “ BUT THATS NOT TRUE, because there is nothing wrong with you. And there is nothing we can do for you in the emergency room” At this same time, I was signing digital papers with the registration nurse, before he stormed in. After signing papers, at that time I was finally able to address his accusations. Eventually he would order a chest x ray after literally begging him to check, as I’ve had pneumonia twice in the past.
After all testing was completed and results were in, a second male doctor came in the tell me the same thing. ( I am not the type of person to be confrontational or refute what a doctor would say, unless I was ABSOLUTELY certain something was wrong. Even with this, I’m still not confrontational as being confrontational solves absolutely nothing) It was disingenuous for this doctor to ask about my previous appointments with my recent Pcp, only to treat me like a liar. Why would a person come to the ER only to lie about what they are going through? I’m not sure what experience each doctor here has had before, but this is truly disheartening and sickening for any doctor to automatically assume a patient would LIE.
The reason why I said the second doctor assumed I was lying was this.. He would ask about the last time I saw doc. I gave him an answer. But the next question asked, he would use that 2nd answer to refute my 1st answer. My PCP is in their same facility and they could have simply looked this information up, to see the reasons for my recent appointments.
Save yourself everyone. This is not worth the stress or hassle. I regret ever coming to the emergency room.
On the other hand, the person at the front desk, the 2 lovely ladies who took my vitals, and gentleman who did my chest X-ray. We’re absolutely amazing!! Kudos to these amazing kind hearted people who carried the only positive experience, Thank you for your professionalism and for showing support, as this is much needed in your career...
Read moreI've been to so many hospitals in and around Houston and never once had the experience I had in this place. My mom had total knee surgery there this month and OMG do I regret taking here there. I never thought that the visit in general would make me never want to bring my mom back. My mom is a diabetic, has high blood pressure, and cholesterol to begin with, after surgery none of her medications were given. Her blood sugar was not checked heck they hadn't taken her vitals at 8pm. When I got there her nurse told me, "well she hasn't ate much so I hadn't checked her sugar levels or given her insulin", really she's a diabetic that just had surgery and was NPO since midnight! Anyway forget all of that, my mom was having to use here own medication minus the pain medication, what kind of hospital let's the patient take their own medication at whatever time they want? Heck not even the hospitalist knew what medication my mom was on when I got there. On the third day we thought that she was being discharged, which did not happen. The facility gave my mom breakfast at 8 am, fine at 1 PM we were still waiting to go home. She was never offered lunch by that time, 5pm rolled around and my sister was informed that she was not going home. By 7pm mom was sitting there with no lunch, no dinner, and a diabetic. I called spoke to the house supervisor and told me that it was a lie that my mom in fact had a dinner tray which she didn't. Then I had the ER receptionist call me back to again tell me that my sister who was with my mom all day was lying. That my mom had lunch and dinner taken to her. By this time I was already furious, the receptionist continues to tell me that she will have the house supervisor call me back. I said no, you have the CEO, COO, or the owner call me. The following day we were discharged at 8 am without anyone getting back to me about my concerns. The only reason I gave this place a star was because my moms nurse ( Ms. Felita) and the house supervisor( Ms. Martha) and the CNA were so attentive to my moms needs. I hate to say that I would never recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever bring a loved one back. This experience was...
