Normally I’m a fan of La Quinta overall. Every one I’ve stayed at has been stellar. But this one must be a lemon or something, because it was…definitely a hotel. I’m not one to complain, but this one definitely needs the review so MAYBE corporate can do something to fix it.
First issue was the staff failing to answer the phone. We had an issue with the parking lot gates prior to check in and called the front desk for help. No one answered the two times we called. After that, I noticed the phone constantly left to be ringing any time we passed through the lobby. Sometimes it even sounded like the calls were being sent to voicemail/the answering machine just to be avoided.
Second was the overall smell. This hotel has a leak. I couldn’t tell you the exact location, but it REEKS of damp/mold in the hallway of the second floor. That’s certainly not healthy to be breathing in, for both staff and guests alike. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that it was just as bad, if not worse, on the first and third floors.
Third was the room conditions. We stayed in room 205. The bathroom door handle just came right off in my friend’s hand in less than 10 minutes of us being there. The humidity LINGERED in the room our entire stay, lending to the leak theory. The water pressure in the shower was a joke and the furniture looked like it’d had had sand paper taken to it. Housekeeping definitely tried to make the room as presentable and clean as possible, but the poor people aren’t given much to work with through corporate/management.
And finally fourth is THE ELEVATOR. Brother. I cannot express to you how rickety this thing was. I’m not bothered by elevators in the slightest, but by our last day, if stairs hadn’t been available, I’d have sooner taken my chances just hopping out the window with our luggage. That elevator jolted and creaked like it was in pain. Doors didn’t want to open or didn’t want to close. Also it somehow ALSO smells damp? Why is everything wet here? Either someone shills the money out to fix this elevator or they need to grant it mercy and rip out to replace it.
The ONLY plus side to this hotel was the price, the fact that we didn’t have to sleep outside, and the housekeepers and breakfast people. Those last two tried and the few I interacted with were very sweet. They deserve safer and cleaner working conditions.
Long story short, La Quinta has better hotels elsewhere in the city if you like the chain. This one isn’t conveniently placed enough to warrant the possibly cheaper price tag. Definitely not going to be...

Read moreWe have been staying here every weekend for almost a month. When we checked out last week, we spoke with the manager about reservations for this weekend in the room we had. The MANAGER reserved our room for us. Check in today (Sunday) and check out (Tuesday) Upon arrival the clerk said we don’t have a room that she rented it to someone and that they don’t do “reservations” for rooms 👀 My husband told her it was pre arranged our card on file and a reservation number that includes that room. She basically said he was wrong and the manager that had made our reservation was wrong, that they don’t reserve certain rooms. But…. She could put us in the other suite because that person wasn’t here yet, said it’s a first come first serve. The person who reserved the other suite is our 70 year old coworker and this clerk wanted to kick her out of her room and give it to us. We passed, words were exchanged. We canceled our reservation at 2:00pm, because of the booking issue and she said the hotel doesn’t offer early check in- even though there was a sign sitting in front of her face that said “early check in $30.00. She then proceeded to say she was still going to charge us because it was close to check in. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. Now to boot the horse in the butt, the 70 year old co worker called and asked about her room and the clerk said “YES WE HAVE THE ROOM YOU RESERVED LAST WEEK READY FOR YOU” the same room she stayed in last week!! Go ahead and call Wyndham on us like you said you would, please do! Let them see how people are reserving rooms and PAYING for them and you are giving them to other people and then saying we won’t get our money back! Make sure you tell them how you also was arguing with a group of people who were booked for a funeral and you charged them a late check in fee? That my husband paid for them! (Manager gave money back and apologized) The same manager that booked our suite for tonight! All of us but 2 people cancelled our rooms there for the remaining of our time down...
