Never again!! Long post alert: I placed a visit to this location just yesterday (5/22), and can honestly say... yesterday's visit will be my last! Just behind the cashier counters were shelves which held plant food. I located my item and proceeded a few steps to the counter. The price on the bag read $9.99; however, the male cashier acknowledged a higher amount owed, so I questioned the price, while pointing out the clearly marked price on the product...$9.99. At that point I thought... No biggie (the price is wrong, so he'll charge the price listed on the item - boy, was I wrong), he then responded, "well ma'am that's the price in the system and we can't change it". "We", was like calling in the troops because here comes another cashier from across the way.... "Yea, we can't!" (She butted in) I then asked for a manager. The female then replied "He's not gonna change it, I can tell you that, but he's in the yellow building over there 👉🏾?". I responded by asking if one of them could call him over. Surprisingly her response was... "Oh, we don't have phones up here" By this time I'm looking around waiting for camera crews because I just knew I was being punked! I quickly realized the reality of the issue when the female cashier begin to look around the store as if to dismiss my presence. The young male cashier immediately dropped his head. At that point I knew I would be the one walking over to the 'yellow building' (I should have just left the store, but nooooo, I'm thinking... This can't be real!)
A short hispanic guy wearing reflective neon construction worker-like clothing and boots identified himself as the manager. He barely spoke english, and was clearly upset from the moment I walked in (I must've disturbed him). After telling him the issue, he just stared at me oddly. I then asked, so will you change the price to the amount listed on the bag as well as all the bags left on the shelf which read $9.99. He stated clearly... Uh-No!!!! I then asked, "where is the customer service around this place?" He said.... and these are his exact words: "Lady, at Houston Garden Center there is no customer service!" I'm sure he's said this plenty of times because he spoke the phrase very clear! At that point, I shook my head, walked back to my vehicle to leave and left without another word. Read moreUsually have good experiences at Houston Garden center, but today that was not the case. On the shelf below the item that I purchased the price indicated $7.99. When I got to the register and paid for the items I realized after the transaction was processed that the price seemed extremely high. I went back to the shelf to verify the price and found that the price was for a different item. I tried to exchange the item for something of lesser value but was informed that all sales are final and that I could not return or exchange the purchase that I had made. There is no signage stating that all sales are final except on your receipt which is after the fact you make a purchase for something that is the wrong price or that you do not want. Hopefully this post will help those who do not know about there no return policy. It is very upsetting that they would not even allow me to exchange it before I even left the store. I will think twice about shopping at this location. Maybe this post will have the owners realize that customer service is key in these parts and that this review will probably hurt their business. I will consider removing this post if someone is willing to work with me. But from the other posts I am seeing I don’t see that happening. I am a small business owner and every customer is very important to my success. I do what ever it takes to make my customers happy. Not just because of how these reviews work but because it’s the right thing to do....

Called store 28 nothing but fax. Called Co hq. To speek with Matt Hooper. Not there. Another rude lady said the sod I purchased has no refund. However sign at point of pickup says if your not happy we will refund. She said that is only at time of pickup. So it is false representation and misleading to say the least. The st Augustine has a weed called common Bermuda which will take over my yard. Only way to get rid of it is to round up entire front yard as it will take over in a years time or sooner. Paper advert says sod may contain 5% other which is OK as long as it's not an invasive weed grass that is all ready overtaking the st Augustine in the sod squares at Houston No Refund Center... Do not give them your money unless you don't mind getting screwed in the end. Thanks for the headache and frustration. Funny thinge other sales person said oh we have weed killer for the weeds in the grass we sale. Don't use round up it will kill all the rest of your st Augustine in your yard. I told him the weed is common Bermuda and he replied oh sorry we don't have anything for that. Charge disputed bringing the crappy weed ridden sod back so you can make 2x your money and sell it to another Un suspecting customer. I will update if gnome pops up or sprouts before I rip it out...
