I had a terrible experience at the Luby’s on the Eastex Freeway. There was an angry black woman with a terrible attitude on the serving line who was extremely rude. I stayed quiet and patient, and was able to brush off her ignorance. However, when it was my father’s turn to get his food, she was even nastier towards him and the manager watched the entire time. It was painful for me to see my elderly dad being treated that way. We were on the way to meet our family at the hospital as my grandmother was being prepped for surgery to have her breast cancer tumor removed. You never know what your customers are going through, and we both didn’t deserve to be treated that way. I asked to speak with the manager, who huffed as he walked towards the cash register. I explained to him that the woman on the line was extremely rude and disrespectful to us. A curse word slipped in my first sentence because of how upset I felt with how she treated my dad, however I did not cuss out the manager and was speaking in a calm but firm manner. He stated that he didn’t like that I cursed, so I proceeded with the conversation without using any curse words. I stated to the manager that he watched the entire time how nasty the server treated my father and did absolutely nothing to intervene. I informed him that my father is a very kind and patient man, and he is also terminally ill and didn’t deserve to be treated that way. I informed the manager that the appropriate thing he should’ve done would’ve been to respectfully remove the woman off the line immediately, and then come back to us to apologize for our experience. This manager was flabbergasted because he wasn’t expecting me to speak as an educated individual. He stated that he was done talking to me with the excuse that I had cursed, even though I never cursed him out and respected his wishes to not use any such language since the beginning of the conversation. This guy is not a real manager. He does not have the appropriate professional skills to manage an establishment and handle conflicts. I’m not surprised because this location has had issues since I was a child. Majority of the time we experience rude servers, a female waiter dressed inappropriately in spandex bending over tables in front of married and single men for tips, and I even got food poisoning when I ate here with my family in college. I’m twenty-five years old now and there still hasn’t been any positive progress or change here. The workers who are nice seem to disappear over time (maybe because they don’t want to be in such a toxic work environment with grinch people and poor management, and I don’t blame them).
I contacted Luby’s corporate office four times, leaving voicemails with my contact information and reason for calling. It’s been over two weeks and no one has responded. I understand why there is a one star rating. If I could, I would rate you with no stars. I spent nearly $100 for my family’s food. I will never choose to eat at a Luby’s establishment ever again. Next time, I hope a situation like this...
Read moreI am a Lubys customer and have been for as long as you have been open in Houston Texas; however I have noticed some noticable changes in your facilities which are not in the customers best interest and dining experience such as cold old food, cold cornbread and rolls, old or cold fish and meat items, slow servers and cashier's, and annoying table servers especially at your North Shepherd location in Houston, he appears to be concerned about what customers need but he is annoying and over bearing and will always remind you to leave a tip and ask you if you forgot something if you don't. This is nothing but trying to conn and shame customers into leaving him a tip. I don't leave tips at cafeterias because I have to go through the line get cold old food and wait for a slow cashier to check me out and then be annoyed by a table server named Sergio to insist on me leaving a tip, but I don't leave tips for bad food or bad annoying service. Sorry, Lubys should pay a better wage to table servers and he would not beg customers for tips. He will remind you on the way out to get some change so you can leave him a tip, this is unethical and bad business for your customers. I'll eat somewhere else. What's happened to Lubys, Mr. Luby founder would be ashamed of his...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer until the experience I received today 12-23-22 @ 9:00am. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I order 2 to 5 turkeys over the years. This Christmas a single turkey order, was not offered without the complete dinner. With this being the case, I chose to get 1 dinner and 1 Smoked turkey breast. After getting home to separate the dinner from the breast I noticed both the turkey and the breast were singled bag and the fluids from the breast which is not fully cooked for the convenience of the customer. This is so it won't dry out during the heating process. The only problem I have with that is if you don't double bag or put in separate container this can contaminate the fully cooked turkey if the bag leaks, which is exactly what happened.I talked with management at the store at 1727 old Spanish trail he was adamant that it was something I could have done after leaving the store. I have no reason to destroy these turkeys. I usually get my turkeys from the luby's in Stafford in my area but for some reason they were not able to handle the order. Please be careful when using this Luby's. luckily I have time to...
