Red Berries Bakeshop — Restaurant in Houston

We ordered a birthday cake from them and paid premium charge. This is the 3rd year in a row that we ordered from them.

First 2 years, they did an awesome job. That's the reason why we ordered it again with them. But this time, they messed up big time. Not sure if their staff has changed which that caused this.

Color of the text requested was dark blue (example color was even shown to them), but used light blue color on a light background that is barely visible. When asked they say that they matched the cake color. Why the hell would they change the color to their preference?

Look at the finishing of the cake, it came out horrible, looks like a trainee played with it.

For the time being, I had to get a regular (better looking cake) from HEB and use it for the birthday pictures, as this cake from Red berries looked horrible. We will cut this premium cake and distribute it to the guests just for eating. I hope that it at least tastes good 🤞

I will never use them...

Something has drastically changed at this place…I had always ordered chicken panini among many other pick up orders from this place, but yesterday, for the first time I decided to order a chicken panini for myself, since my teenage boys had always raved about it. Luckily my son started eating it first, and boy, was he disappointed. He immediately asked me if it was from the same Red Berries that I always had gotten it from. Then I tried it to taste it myself to see why he was complaining, and sure enough, it was Bad. They make the paninis fresh and make you wait 15 min for it. It had always been worth the wait. But this time it was awful and we both strongly disliked it and had to eat several other things to get rid of the aftertaste. I don’t know what they did, what has changed, but Do Not order chicken panini or any other freshly made orders from there. Started to doubt their other...

Cake price and size illusion

I bought cake from Red Berries from many years since we prefer eggless option and the cake is tasty.

However in my recent experience Aug, 2024, we ordered a Black Forest cake and the cake size has been significantly reduced.

They have been charging $35 for a cake(see pics) and yesterday she told me it’s $30. I thought may be they are having a promotion, I didn’t ask and she didn’t specify the size of the cake as well at the time of ordering the cake. If the size has been reduced we needed to be aware of the size at the time of the order

The cake was so so tiny, it’s so expensive for the price they charged. Pictures are posted for comparison. We were shocked and disappointed.
