I tried 2x to call and speak to the manager so that a review like this wasn't necessary, but the woman who answered hung up on me both times. This might have been a poorly trained employee, or it could have been a reflection on the business as a whole. You can decide.
I have been to this massage place 2x now. The first time I got the Thai massage, and it was fairly enjoyable. The 2nd time, I needed to relax and loosen tight muscles so I went with the Swedish massage. That was a HUGE mistake. It quickly became apparent the massage therapist had no idea what she was doing. It's like she had never given a Swedish massage before. Towards the end of the massage, she just swapped back to Thai massage techniques and bent my neck in horrific positions (again...she didn't seem to know what she was doing) She slapped my head and face area a few times too and, last time I checked, that wasn't part of Swedish massage. There was nothing gentle or relaxing about it.
I won't go into a lot of detail on this last point due to the sensitive nature of the topic, but I will say this: Most massage places (even other Thai massage places I've been) are cool if you leave on undergarments and respect those boundaries. The first time I went, this was the case. The 2nd time I went, the woman did NOT respect any boundaries and just took it upon herself to significantly move undergarments (and not just a bit to avoid getting oil on them).
I will never go back there again, and I honestly recommend choosing a different Thai...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I was concerned upon arriving as they only took my name over the phone. No questions about what type of massage I wanted or any other information that most spas would document over the phone.
I arrived, they asked my name and they promptly escorted me to the back. The employees seemed very friendly although they didn't speak much English. My massage therapist didn't seem to speak much English but I prefer no conversation absent a brief request of problem areas or pressure preference during the session. She asked me my pressure level and proceeded with the massage. The one thing I love about a Thai Massage is the pressure during, the stretching and when you get up your feel like new! This place succeeds in all the aforementioned categories. You will enjoy it!
The only negative if I have one is that I believe on the website I saw something about hot stones and I didn't get that but it was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to go again.
Enjoy.....Signed with and relaxation, @TheOriginalCharlestonian #LEWReviews...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to this place earlier this year and didnāt have a horrible experience, so I decided to book an appointment to come back. I booked the $325 massage which is for 5 hours, over the phone and confirmed the time with the lady. When I arrived the lady wanted me to pay BEFORE the massage, so I did. AFTER taking my debit card, the lady says she only has time for a one hour massage today. It was my birthday, so I didnāt want a 1 hour massage especially when I already paid $325, so I told the ladies that I needed my money back. The ladies REFUSED to refund my money by cash or card and said I would need to call my bank. So they took $325.00 from me, never offered the service I booked, and now I have to wait 10 days for the bank to investigate this, so I can get my money back. Luckily I got an appointment at āThe One Therapeutic massageā on Briar Forest and these ladies are wonderful at what they do. Iād recommend everyone else going there also, NOT this...
