Unpleasant experience and terrible polish job - My boss and I were in the area working and decided to continue our meeting while getting our nails done, as we’d both been finding it difficult to carve out the time with our heavy work schedules. We don’t live nearby, but we work nearby, so thought we’d give this place a shot. We were promptly greeted and shown the gel color options, which there are very many to choose from. We were seated quickly and handed menus. My boss opted for the higher-end pedi and I opted for the basic pedi because I wanted to be able to tip well (former service industry in me - I value the hard work of manual labor and even just basic service). Anyway, I can’t say if my pedicurist just lacked basic skills and personality or if she was resentful that I went with the basic pedi and not the more expensive one, but she was very rough, dismissive, and careless with me during my pedicure. She was incredibly impatient, shoving my feet and legs around in such a way that I actually had some slight knee pain after leaving…I can’t imagine if someone actually had knee problems to begin with. On top of that, not only did she also do a HORRIBLE polish job leaving thick, protruding edges of polish all around my toes making them look like a 5 year old painted them, but she also REPEATEDLY ignored my requests for matte top coat. The polish came off of three toes in less than 5 days. I was in such shock at how bad the experience was that I just wanted to get out of there. I’ve never tipped so little in my life and honestly, it’s been more than two weeks and I still want to go back for that $5. She...
Read moreI got a pedicure and a manicure for my birthday and wanted to treat myself. I saw the great reviews and figured oh this will be a great experience. It was not. The service was cold. No welcoming and no thank you’s. The pedicure was at least done well but felt rushed. The manicure woman looked annoyed and reluctant. I did change the design bc I thought it was an ombré. I said no worries just do what you can. And I clearly asked “can you do it?” She said she could and I thought I would be reassured. Well no not only the color was off but the filing and everything hurt. I left the salon with sharp nails, pain and stuff underneath. I said “ow” 5 times and no sorry or concern she was being rough. Then she responded with “it’s because you had me remove it.” To update the design. Only 2 nails on too. I’m like yes I know I had it changed but you’re hurting me. And she just gave me a blank stare. It wasn’t even busy either. I was the only customer there by the end of my service. The guy helping another customer was super friendly and so was another woman. Also I’m Vietnamese and know how nail salons run but this was so disappointing for my birthday.
Maybe the person helping me was new or having a bad day but jeez it put a damper on my birthday. If you couldn’t do the design that’s okay I would have just gotten a solid color. See attached what I asked.
Anyways I went to another salon and got them fixed and had no pain.
Just be wary I guess...
Read moreUpsale type of place, you come in asking for the number 1, when they realize it’s your first time there they’ll bump you up to the number 2. Includes hot wax bags, hot towel wraps, and scented scrubs and lotions. Which a. I’m allergic to scented things b. Why would i want hot wax bags on? Why would I want hot towel wraps? I don’t want arthritis nor am i at an age where these upsales are necessary. My manicure was mid. Where some fingers needed a bit more filing, the tech over looked and just painted over them. Over all sad to say the upsale scared me away and won’t be coming back. The $103 dollars that i was charged was not worth the sore legs, overlapping shellac on my nail beds, nor the filing i had to do myself at home, I will only be returning to fix the already peeling shellac from it overlapping my cuticle/nail beds. And maybe even for a redo on my pedicure, the fact that i was upsold and my feet weren’t scrubbed nor was my dead/dry skin removed AFTER BEING UPSOLD is...
