This review has been long overdue. My apologies to Karolena and the staff for not recognizing how awesome they've been over the past 7+ years I've been taking my Subaru to her shop and I'm going to rectify that now.

Most recently, Karolena talked me through some troubleshooting a roadside emergency while I was on a road trip. I had emailed her about a warning light that had come on and we wound up talking on the phone about what to expect with repair costs for a failed thermostat, a new radiator hose and an oil change. My car overheated in the wilds of Indiana on my way to Michigan. It's a very long story but her advice and support on the phone were invaluable. Thank you, Karolena, again for your help.

In 2022, when the transmission on my car failed, Karolena quoted me a really really expensive repair cost. It's a transmission for Pete's sake, of course it was going to be ridiculous. Like $2000+ just for parts. I was just getting back to work after being unemployed for 18 months due to the pandemic. I really couldn't afford the repairs or to buy a new car. So I told her I would come pick up the car later then figure out what to do with it. It was still mostly driveable, just not at highway speed.

Between talking to her on the phone and the time my ride got me to the shop, she'd found out there was a factory recall on that model Subaru and that transmission in particular. The recall was up to 100,000 miles and my car was at 92,000. She handed me a stack of paperwork about it and suggested I go to the dealership.

There was some more work I needed to do to with Subaru USA to show the chain of ownership and to prove it was the factory transmission, which was worth the time and effort.

The dealership invoice would have been close to $10,000. An unscrupulous shop owner wouldn't have done the research and tried to take me for several thousand dollars in repairs.

Karolena saved me all that money and potentially from having to buy another car when I really, really could not afford it. BONUS - It was so much fun walking into a dealership repair shop with a stack of paperwork and driving away a week later with a free transmission in my car.

This place is a hidden gem. Over the years, I've only used two mechanics. My first mechanic one was closed for the whole week when I needed this particular repair. My second mechanic is near downtown but I couldn't find someone to pick me up from downtown, so I searched online for an automotive repair shop close to my home and found two companies - Professional Auto Care, and another shop near the Galleria. After interviewing the Galleria company that I recently discovered online, I didn't feel comfortable about having them repair my wheel bearings because they insisted I must have my wheel hub removed and a new one installed OVER THE PHONE. So, I decided to give Professional Auto Care a shot, especially after they told me their computer said my car has a 33% chance of needing a new part, but said they would look at it once I brought it in.

WOW! Professional Auto Care's facility was CLEAN and professional from the time I walked in the door. To me, this business feels like family.....they take their time to care for your vehicle by explaining and pointing out what's wrong, make recommendations, and put the newly found repairs in order of importance for you to take care of if/when you decide to let them fix it. Instead of feeling like I had to be rushed off, they offered me to stay in their separate waiting lounge where I was able to use my laptop and their internet connection, stay cool, sit on a comfortable couch, watch tv, use a private restroom, drink free coffee, tea, bottled water, or even have a soda from their refrigerator. While waiting, the owner's daughter was kind enough to even offer her personal snacks to ease my hunger pains. I was treated with respect and the owner took the time to share a ton of wisdom with me about vehicles and MUCH MUCH more! He has a wealth of knowledge. I felt like I was riding in a new vehicle after they serviced it. It ran soooo smooth! Their prices are SO fair, and I haven't found such a group of humble car repair professionals as I did at this place. I already referred all of my family members. (and no, this is NOT a paid review...this is just a happy customer who told them I planned to get on Google and give back a positive review like the others who helped direct me here with...

To help anyone looking for an auto maintenance and repair shop, here is a great example of how amazing this family run operation is. i went in to get a full comprehensive inspection done to verify that nothing unexpected was going to happen to my truck that we couldn't prevent. They took the vehicle and did a great job on all of the component checks, I think its a 105 point inspection? anyways, they actually give you documentation that helps you to understand how your vehicle is looking, take pictures of problem areas or soon to be problem areas and recommend the services that they could supply, they then write up the scope and you can go down the list and choose what you want to do if anything at all.

in a time where every auto body mechanic is looking to replace any part to make a little bit more money from their customers, these guys totally shoot you straight and let you know all the info(and also train you briefly if you dont know!) so you can accurately judge whether it makes sense for you at that moment.

Karolena is the bomb dot com and she always makes her customers feel like family. I accidentally lost my keys and after running around houston, called the shop and asked if they have seen the keys. Karolena took about 15 minutes out of her day to look for it, call me back and said, "oh no! its not here, where else did you go?" and even got in her car and raced down to the local gas station to try and look for it! all the while calling me telling me her status to find MY keys.

and her Father Everardo who owns the shop is so passionate about what he does he could talk to you all day about how your vehicle's specific parts work if you care to know. He also finds fulfillment in enabling and educating youth who aspire to become great entrepreneurs in the auto maintenance industry.

I can not express more how much these guys deserve the opportunity to show you how you can have the illusive "family in the mechanic industry" connection. But from my experience I can guarantee you will not be disappointed...
