Republic Boot Co is the place to go ... for the best selection of stock boots, t-shirts, jewelry, hats, travel bags, meeting new friends, awesome live music ... and custom designing boots! Oh YES I did!!! Boots are my thing! I heard about RBC from a podcast (shout-out to Dale Not Dale. Give them guys a listen. They are super funny!) I have several pairs of boots that mark special occasions, including wedding anniversaries. And 2024 marks 30 years married, so of course I want a new pair of boots. After learning about Republic Boot, I made my appointment and planned the trip to Houston, Texas all the way from West Virginia. Jake is the MAN!!!! He greeted us with the best welcome anyone could ask for. We immediately went to the design room and started the process of figuring out my special 30 year anniversary boots. It's a whole process that starts with picking out your skin to finally the tip of your boot and heel height, and then getting to sit in that big ol' chair to get your exact boot size by drawing out your foot and taking all necessary measurements of your leg. I had some ideas floating around in my head and even had some things on paper, but Jake was so patient with me, and showed me a few options that might work better for me. Then, Jake consulted with Nikki and she gave that added "girl" touch and I felt confident in my final decision. I feel like I have made a lifelong friend not only with Jake, but with the Republic Boot Co and the rest of the staff. My husband and I were treated better than a family member. We were invited back to enjoy the live music on Friday, and so glad we carved time out of our Houston stay for that. Cody Joe Hodges and his lovely wife were entertaining and played a variety of country songs with such enthusiasm. He even sang Country Roads - just for this West Virginia gal!! I cannot say enough good things about Republic Boot Co! There is not enough words in the English language to describe Jake and his Texas hospitality. If you love boots as much as I do, and are tired of wearing something that everyone else has, then make an appointment as fast as you can, and get scheduled for custom designing your own pair - unique and one of a kind! I went to Republic Boot Co for my birthday with the idea of just gathering information, but I ended up walking out having ordered my first pair of true custom boots. As someone who wears AFO braces, the options for anything beyond basic work boots are nearly nonexistent. Ariat makes a disability line, but those are geared more toward function than style. I wanted boots I could proudly wear to formal events, and Republic Boot Co delivered far beyond my expectations.

Jake was the one who helped us, and he was absolutely outstanding. This was my first time ordering customs, and he made the entire process simple by showing me references and examples for every possible option I might need. That made what could have been an overwhelming decision surprisingly easy. He immediately understood the challenges of fitting braces into boots and explained that a large portion of their clientele also require custom work for prosthetics and orthotics. Unlike other makers who brushed off the issue, Jake and the team offered multiple solutions to ensure my braces would be accommodated perfectly.

We ended up spending about 2 hours, walking through every leather imaginable, from standard calf to exotics like elephant, giraffe, and hippo. I ended up choosing a stunning black cherry caiman with polished black calf for the shaft. Jake guided me through customization details like initials in the shaft, caiman edging, and more, making the process as personal as it gets.

On top of the craftsmanship, the experience itself was exceptional. The Republic Boot Co team measured and re-measured to make a precise mold for my feet, insoles, and braces. They made sure every detail was accounted for. They even have an open bar and comfortable amenities so you can relax while building something truly unique.

The only drawback is the 11 to 12 month lead time, but it’s easy to understand why they are so in demand. Perfection takes time, and their level of service is unmatched. Republic Boot Co sets the gold standard in my mind for custom boots, and I cannot recommend them highly enough, especially for anyone with special...
