My family and I have been active members of St. Mark's since 2012. Some of the many reasons we keep coming back include: * The LOVE mural outside accurately describes what's happening in this place, among these people, and with our neighbors. Love is in action here. * In this place, we believe that God created humankind (all of us) in God's image. With that backdrop, many of our members have found a place to begin to heal from religious trauma. * When our family was formed through foster care and adoption, we were embraced, accepted, supported, and encouraged here. * The individuals in my family tend to question all things (including matters of faith and religion), and this is a place where it is safe for us to do so. As a result, my faith has been nourished. * Most people I have encountered at St. Mark's have been warm and welcoming. And when we're not at our best (because we're all human), we are reconciled and made new week after week. * I enjoy the traditional liturgy juxtaposed with a theological approach that is relevant to our time and place. * I appreciate that leadership is very intentional about keeping children safe from those who might want to harm them. * I really really love these people.

This congregation is so warm and welcoming. They come from all walks of life, yet live in harmony with one another. And Pastor Emily might be the best preacher I've ever heard! She uses humor in her sermons with lots of personal stories, and isn't afraid to talk about her own fears and shortcomings. She has led St. Mark's through some very challenging times after a devastating fire in 2019, the pandemic in 2020, and the rebuild that took a full 3 years to complete. Through it all, she remained calm, strong, and determined to make St. Mark's an even better place of worship than it was before the fire. Membership has grown, more young families have joined the church, and the day school is at capacity. I can't imagine belonging to a more wonderful church than St. Mark's United Methodist...

I found this church on Google maps in 2000 and am still going, so I figured I should leave a review for others. The service styles are traditional, but the theology is progressive. The preachers are all great, and each of my weeks are better after hearing about how to apply the teachings of Jesus to the world today. As the mural says, love is the theme! And we have lots of families, with little wiggly...
