I don't often write 3 star reviews but I when I left I felt very meh about the whole thing.

Parking- Not accessible to people with disabilities, the parking spots back you right into Studemonts oncoming traffic, and the parking around back has several signs saying it's reserved for Bella Green customers only.

Setting & Decor- The inside is very small but really cute decor wise. There is currently no indoor seating due to covid but that doesn't bother me.

Covid- everyone was taking the proper precautions inside, sanitizer was available at the entrance, safety glass was in place to protect employees and customers.

Employee Interaction- This is where it started to drop a bit for me. You can see back to the kitchen and they can definitely see new customers arrive. It took another girl in the back to point out there was a customer and the barrista that served me seemed rather reluctant to do so. Perhaps she was having a rough day, who am I to judge... The menu was quite overwhelming with options so I began to ask questions about drinks, I didn't know what they were, who roasted their coffee, made their pastries and what not. I could tell she was annoyed with questions. She said the (I was asking specifically about cold brew) coffee was Zeplin, who I didn't know but wanted to test out any way, and that the pastries were made in house. But then it got confusing when she back pedaled and said they actually got them from a local baker but didn't know who. Okay. Interesting response but moving on...

What I ordered- I ordered a cold brew, gluten free vegan sugar cookie, and an egg salad croissant. After a 15% tip, the cost was about 20$. (And they have the protector glass up and the barrista taps tip for you after asking what you want to tip which makes it very uncomfortable for me personally. I like to tip but I feel judged when being watched by the person who I'm tipping) The cold brew wasn't bad, I'd kind of like to try it on a different day and see if it was less bitter though. I don't mind the strength of cold brew, just seemed a little bitter. The cookie, what's Interesting is I loved it at first but for some reason it changed half way through. Probably the drinking of cold brew with it. The icing was an amazing texture and it first it wasn't overly sweet but then it became too sweet to finish. The texture of the cookie was fantastic for gluten free and vegan, no doubt about that. Soft on the inside and cooked just right. However the flavor sort of changed half way through as well and it lost it for me. The egg salad croissant was kind of odd to be honest. Maybe I'm just overly critical of my egg salad but this one had absolutely no flavor. The croissant outside was okay, but inside it was under cooked with layers smashed into each other. The flavor was kind of sour. I couldn't tell what was causing that but it was enough to make me not finish the sandwich. The pickle kind of felt like an after thought as well.

I'd like to come back and try different menu items and a different day to see if the ambience is any better. Today though, I left feeling very middle ground with no real excitement about what I had consumed. I hope the restaurant takes my response as constructive and...

A Hidden Gem for Coffee & Scones Lovers – Red Dessert Dive

I visited Red Dessert Dive today for the first time, and that’s all it took to place it firmly among my favorite spots for coffee and pastries. Nestled in the heart of the Heights on Studewood St., this cozy little cafĂ© is a true gem.

I ordered a stout Americano and a nitro cold brew with oat milk—both were outstanding! The Americano, made with beans from Little Dreamer Coffee Roasters, had a rich, full-bodied flavor that was perfect for slow sipping and good conversation. I also tried one of their Blondie Bars, which was wonderfully balanced—sweet but not overpowering.

My companion instantly fell in love with the nitro cold brew; it was smooth, creamy, and deeply satisfying. The staff were kind and happy to answer all my questions about their coffee beans and house-made teas.

Yes, they make their own tea blends under the name Camellia Tea, which I plan to explore on my next visit. Their tea selection sounds promising, with offerings like English Breakfast (Keemun), Coconut Dreams (black tea with coconut and lemongrass), Chai Latte, and Matcha.

The space itself is small and inviting, with just enough parking for its size—a bonus in this area. While I hope I get the chance to return often, I know the place’s popularity might make that tricky!

In short, Red Dessert Dive is an excellent spot for high-quality coffee, delightful treats, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Highly recommended for both coffee...

Very conflicted about what rating to give this place. Where do I start
. This was me and my boyfriends first time visiting this really beautiful dessert shop that’s only down the street from our house.. And the lady at the register was not the friendliest.(I had asked if the parking on the side was there’s) she said no but that’s it’s fine as long as it’s TO GO, I told her it was not to go and I proceeded to move my car. My boyfriend was not very familiar with the menu since again it was our first time. And when he asked about the wine she answered with a very condescending attitude. (Like if we were just asking a lot of questions and not gonna buy anything) Made us feel like we were burdening her with our questions and requests.(we even asked her if they were about to close since she seemed so eager to just get rid of us) We ended up buying 3 different desserts and two glasses of wine, to her surprise
We ended up going back to the counter to order another glass of wine this time the owner took our order and was the complete opposite from the first interaction that we had, she was very welcoming and very professional. She even told us to come back on weekends when they have a larger selection of pastries
Overall this place is really yummy. They just need to work on customer service
We plan on coming back and hopefully all the baristas are in a good mood that day
and thank you again to the owner for turning our experience around (the raspberry cake...

first picture was what we wanted for gender reveal. i payed $120 the day i ordered it, weeks in advance. the day i went to pick up, i was given the cake on the right. i cried in my car before i went back in and asked them to fix it. they said they could give us what we asked for weeks in advance, i didn’t mind if they couldn’t do it but they assured me they could. if i would’ve known they couldn’t, i would’ve picked a different cake but what they gave us was down right embarrassing. she said she couldn’t give us our money back but they’d do their best to “fix” it. i asked to speak to the manager, she called me within the hour to apologize. she gave us our money back and offered in store credit as well. the manager handled the situation very well and she was extremely helpful and nice. however, we had no cake for our gender reveal. i was better off with no cake rather than what they gave us. this happened a while back, i just never left the review. i don’t think this place is terrible but i would never go back because of this.

One of our new favorite spots in Houston for coffee and pastries! Vibe: Cool cafe with a modern farmhouse vibe. Lots of natural wood throughout and some vintage cabinets give this place a warm and cozy charm. Outside wall has some cool art. Good amount of space and seating inside. Service: Baristas were very kind and helpful, gave us some great recommendations. They knew their coffee too. Food: We ordered a matcha latte, drip coffee, and red velvet oreo bar. The matcha latte was creamy and earthy, just the right amount of sweetness. Tasted like quality matcha powder as we could taste the extra depth and umami. Drip coffee was good, it was a dark roast Ethiopian coffee. Notes of plum, nuts, and dark chocolate. The red velvet oreo bar was outstanding and worth the visit alone. Moist, dense, and full of white chocolate chips and bits of oreo. There's also flecks of salt throughout which really gave the dessert some punches of flavor! Cannot recommend it enough. Red Dessert Dive is definitely Let's Eat Houston approved. 😋
