Rose's African Hair Braiding — Local services in Houston

The place was filthy! Hair and orange peels were on the floor. When I walked in the lady asked me what kind of braids did I want. I showed her a picture and she told me to show another lady. I showed her and she couldn't do the style, which was 2 braids with fishtails. She said my hair was too short. My hair is shoulder length. She then said because I'm natural, the style wouldn't look good with natural hair. Last time I checked braids are supposed to be a protective style. I told her I still want 2 regular braids. She sends me back to the lady that sent me to her! She ask me what color and I said a mix of purple and black. She tells me she can't do that and I need to choose 1 color. I refused to do that and all of a sudden she found hair to mix those 2 colors. She was very rough in combing out my hair. She blow dried my hair and was trying to burn me with it! I had to keep moving my head! She also pulled my hair as hard as she could to braid it! She talked the whole time. She took time to shop while doing my hair. Yes, people came in selling Pink and she was shopping! While braiding my hair she decides she wants to lean against the counter, taking my hair with her! I pulled the braid because she hurt me and she tells me to hold my hair. The towel she used was either stained or dirty. One of the ladies that work there got her hair done at least 30 minutes after the lady started my hair. Her hair was styled in the same 2 braids I was getting and she was done before me! My hair is coming out of the braids 1 day after it was done! This was a horrible experience and a horrible style! They didn't even do the style I wanted! They did what they know how to do and she didn't do it well! I'll never come back and I will tell others not to patronize...

Stylists do good feed in cornrows which can be pricey with designs ranging from 80-100$ (thats if you wanna add hair and bring your own hair) on the other hand some of the clientele that frequent the facility can be loud, rude and ghetto starting arguments with the stylist but i blame the ghetto-ish clientele that patron there on the location which is located in a crime heavy part of houston. sometimes the stylists have spats with other stylists in front of clients which is highly unprofessional. if you can sit through that best times to go is during the week in the morning and noon time when its slow avoid friday and saturday too busy

Arrived 30 minutes earlier to verify if that head the color hair i wanted. ONLY TWO THERE! Both doing a full head of knotless one halfway done. Wanted 40 minutes still no one shows up. I leave! After I purchase hair! They didn’t respect my time. I would have been finished for my event. Customer service lacking. Braid are nice if you can handle the extreme level of unprofessionalism that comes with it. Overtly unsatisfactory so now I’m going ok vacation with an alternative style absolutely...
