ULH Community Center — Local services in Houston

This is my second time doing an event here and I can't say enough good things about this community center/venue. First off it's a LARGE space, my goodness. Brand new, very modern, incredible space indoors and out with the parking lot. The loading area is fantastic. State of the art sound system, enormous stage if you want to take of advantage of it with lighting, and they even have screens installed in the ceiling. In the pictures you'll see we brought in our own staging and lighting just for what we wanted to in the room and the staff is very flexible with allowing these changes. The location is great being very close to Bush Airport, many hotels are around in the area and of course with beltway 8 and 45 being right there, it's very easy to get to. You can see in my pictures the scale of this place. We did a wedding this time and it came out beautifully. All the vendors were exceptional, there is so much you can do with this space. Karma DJs provided the sound and lighting and it was definitely a highlight...

We booked ULH Event Center for our wedding and, while the venue itself was fine, the way charges were handled was very disappointing.

There was a clear agreement in our contract and conversations about what would be included and what would be charged. However, after the event, we were presented with additional charges that were never communicated to us beforehand. These charges were explained only after the fact, creating an unpleasant and unfair experience.

For such an important life event, transparency and honesty in billing are essential. Unfortunately, the lack of clear communication and the surprise additions to our final balance left us feeling misled.

I hope management improves their process and ensures that all costs are clearly explained and agreed upon in writing before the event, so future clients do not go through...

Parking is a problem, the venue is to far from everywhere, tickets are overpriced, getting drinks etc. is terrible, lines are to long, drinks are expensive and super small, food is terrible and MEGA overpriced everything is MEGA overpriced! Did I mention its super uncomfortable, seating is such that, you CAN'T see....I could keep going but....If you can see the fights are great, the people are fun, friendly, and respectful.

Someone just left me a message taking NO responsibility for anything in the review, as a matter of fact, I do not remember seeing any fire exits etc. if an emergency occurred, there would be complete chaos, y'all can do better, because YOU can bet you would be...
