Dr. Josephson is great. We cannot say enough good things about him, nurses, anesthesia, etc.... The practice/office is NOT and explains why doctors continue to flee in droves from the BIG MEDICAL COMPLEX. Upon a doctors recommended return recommendation, 5 years after our initial colonoscopies (wife and I went together), we were surprised when BCBS denied 100% preventative coverage due to the coding by the CLT Gastro - surveillance vs screening. We are now significantly out of pocket without an honest discussion - up front. We even called the week before to confirm it was covered as preventative. They hide behind their estimates and were not clear about what CPT code would be used. "It could change depending on what the Dr. finds...." Complete and utter Bullocks! Now - we are penalized for a preventative procedure that Medicare will pay for every 24 months! Add this insult to undergoing the procedure to prevent colon cancer (a BIG issue in North Carolina). Drs may be really good but their administrative staff is terrible. You can hear the ambivalence in their voices. I had gone in to ask questions that they said they will email to the Dr’s team but no answer. And a complete lack of caring - my son had his initial appointment over a year ago. At the time I asked about a follow up and they said 12 months but they didn’t schedule it then nor did they call when they got to scheduling for the 12 month mark. I only realized how long they have ignored us because the infusion company said they needed the latest office visit notes and labs. I spoke to the person supporting the Dr and again a complete indifference about 14 months going by and no one from their office reaching out to schedule a one...

There is a obvious pattern that clinical experience excellent, and I agree, but administrative 3rd rate. I had a very difficult time scheduling upper GI last Fall. Numerous calls unanswered. When I finaly got to scheduler she gave me her extension and suggested to call her direct next time.I recently reached out for a Dr recommended upper and contact number not in service? I demanded I speak to office mgr and no return call, just another run around. Found someone that said she had my back and would get me scheduled but no return call for 2 weeks, "no appointment" ! If I were a Dr at this office id be furious all the years of education, loans, insurance etc., only to have an office that forbids your patients getting...
