This hawkeye sales associate ruined my and my twenty-year-old daughterās shopping experience less than two minutes after we walked in the door. It was about an hour before closing, and we first visited the jewelry rack which had missing earrings and broken necklaces, but were still priced for $4.99 and higher, which is where the hawkeye on duty started lurking about as if we were āwould be thievesā...she kept watching my daughter everywhere she went as if she was gonna try and steal some of their cheaply gotten inventory. So then, after we spent an hour trying to evade this over imposing sales associate just to enjoy our girlās night out of shopping and have a little fun, it was closing time so we headed to the checkout where the cashier was no better. She literally started pulling the red $1.00 and $2.00 clearance tags and typing in the number underneath the stickers or typing in the higher priced sticker below the cheaper priced sticker as if we were trying to get their cheap inventory for the $1.00 sticker price when it was really $2 or $3 or $4. Okay, so if the hawkeye and sticker investigating cashier wasnāt enough to make a person never set foot in this place again, we forgot and left a bra hanging on the front of the cart and proceeded to walk out the front door, an honest and terribly timed mistake, which made the red flashing thieve light go off...and hawkeye was like yep i knew it lmfeo. Who would try to steal a bra hanging on the front of their cart and just walk out with it dangling in front of the entire store after just spending $70 on a bunch of stuff. Exactly. I ended up spending a regretful $70 in this store only to be made to feel like my daughter and I were in a layover from the regional jail. Needless, to say, I wonāt spend anymore money here, nor will my daughter because after this wretched experience, there are other cheap stores with cheap stuff but better and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to go to Gabe's a lot when my sons were going to school but this is the first time I've been there in several months. When I walked in, the initial response was that the store itself looked clean and organized. There wasn't many employees on the floor but enough so that if I had a question, I could find someone for help. The shelves were slightly disorganized but the racks of clothes, the opposite. I was generally happy with the experience until I got in line to check out. There was a single line of people weaved through a last minute isle of "stuff" to purchase. By 'stuff' I mean everything under the sun. It was an array of chargers, speakers, potato chips, sodas, earbuds, etc etc etc.. it was chaos to even look but the 10+ people ahead of me did just that, holding the rest of us up from checking out. It was 20 minutes in that line until you come out the other end to two cashiers working frantically to get the people checked out before hysteria set in. I ended up setting the few things I wanted to purchase down on a shelf and exiting the store empty handed. I don't know that it's like that all the time, but how about I just don't take the chance....

The reason this is a 2 star is because of the workers. We went here a few days ago and were standing waiting on a price check when another family went into the other lane and checked out. They had two kids, and the mother had dread locks. When they walked away who I'm assuming was the manager, who looked disgusting (knotted pony tail, shirt with stains, rips and holes in it, sweat pants), commented on how she needed a "damn hairbrush" and called her hair "shitlocks", and the cashier commented on how she felt bad for her children and how they needed to be taken away from her and they continued laughing at her until we left. It made me wonder what they said about us when we left the store.
I can't believe they said this right in front of my and my husband, it was unbelievably rude and completely unprofessional. We're never returning here based on that alone. If that's how they treat paying customers, I have no interest in shopping...
