After an entire season I tried to sell with them again. They refused to accept my pants and pair of shoes after taking one look at me. I misspoke, the manager didnt even look in my direction she only spoke to her employee the entire time. I then said I would just give the peices to my friend but added the comment "I'm surprised you don't take Micheal Kohrs products." After that they were willing to take my items. Why didn't they check the name brands. The tags were attached. I hated to think the color of my skin had something to do with it. So I sent a co-worker in who was of a different race with the same items and they said they would take them right away. I refuse to do business with Plato's ever again. A similar situation happened with my Ugg boots. They wanted them after I acted suprised about the name brands. I understand running a business. And Plato's is a high end thrift store from my understanding. However I wouldn't want anyone to feel they way I did after trying to do business with my name brand items just because of the way I was born. African American. I hate to even write non positive reviews however this place needs a customer service adjustment. Worst service I've come across in...

NO. JUST NO. AVOID THIS LOCATION. I will remove this when the store gives me back my $13. When I came in to return an item , I was rung up for the return of a shirt. I returned it with the receipt and within the time period of 7 days. All seemed well until my next visit when they seemed to have “lost my store credit” and just stared at me as I explained that I returned it correctly , I am a frequent shopper that this HSV location, and I also showed them my card charges to prove I did shop at this location. The manager could not do anything but just stand there staring at me and looking dumb.

Now , when I had a minor issue with a return at the Plato’s in Madison, they apologized, gave me a discount on my purchase, and offered to look through their system over the weekend to find the issue. The customer service at Madison is SO much better.

ADDITIONALLY, I tried to buy leggings at the Huntsville location and literally got an ad for the same leggings on my phone that week and they were CHEAPER TO BUY NEW than at the second hand store ($18 for used leggings?)

I use plato's often to take clothes that do not sell in my shop I have. The selling process is always awful. They tell me it's a 30 minuite wait for my things to be looked at every time but I end up waiting atleast an hour every time. I go inside to check on my drop off and they're all standing around on their phones. I gave them brand new lulu leggings with tags and they wanted to buy them from me for $4?! yea no. I had a pair of shoes my sister bought FROM THEM and they ended up not fitting her and so I had them in the bag with my stuff that was for sale. They told me the condition of the shoes was too worn and they were in bad condition. My sister literally bought them from them!!!! They ALWAYS undersell me or tell me it'll be a 30 minuite wait when i'll be there for 2 or 3 hours waiting for them to look through my things. I don't mind waiting hours as long as they're honest with me about it. But when i walk into the store and i'm still waiting for my pickup and they're all standing around on their phones while i'm trying to get out of the store and go along my day, i'm not satisfied.
