The lady was nice enough but everything else was a horrible experience. We dropped my daughter's prom dress off on a Saturday to be hemmed and were told we could pick it up the next weekend. We came the next Sunday and at first she couldn't even find her dress, then realized she had forgotten about it and it wasn't done. I agreed to pick it up 2 days later. I came back today and brought it home for my daughter to try on. It was left almost 2 inches too long, hemmed unevenly, the tule inside was left longer than the outer part of the dress in places, wrinkled, and the worst is it smelled like cat pee and you could actually see a slight stain on the fabric. I probably should have known better since she clearly lives in the shop and it smells like cat pee when the front door is closed, but I'd been too optimistic that my daughter's dress would be protected. We are now less than 4 days out from prom and need to figure out what to do about this whole thing. For the those of us who have recently had bad experiences with Mai, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got a text from the shop saying that my trousers were dry cleaned and ready to be picked up. A text! Walking into her shop was nothing short of a miracle! It was completely clean of all clutter and clothing, the area where she sews is tidy, and no clothes are in garbage bags or laying out to be mended. She said her family was helping her out. When I remarked how tidy her shop was, my remarked “go in back and see, honey”! As long as her shop stays like this, I have no problem giving her my business. Go in and see for yourself. I once went in with with no appointment with some skirts I needed resized, since I had gained weight & had the wrong sizes. I was measured quite courteously so I had high expectations despite their busyness. I resolved to be patient because they seemed to be swamped. The estimated wait was two weeks. I went back a few times, was told military is prioritized. I didn't mention my prior service to see what happened after that.
