N&N Creole Soul Food is located in Imperial Beach, CA. This chef is known on social media for her large portions at a reasonable prices. We went for stuffed turkey legs, but they didn’t have them. We’re told they’re too hard to find. I got the Soul Bowl with fried shrimp, which came with black-eyed peas, collards, and rice. I ordered a side of sweet potatoes, but I forgot to take a picture of them. Wavey Crockett had the Voodoo Bowl with seafood jambalaya (shrimp, crab, or crawfish), succotash, and voodoo sauce topped with blackened chicken. We also got regular beignets. Everything is made to order, so it will take a minute. This place lives up to the portions shown on social media. My Soul Bowl had 1 lb of delicious cornmeal-fried shrimp. With two sides for only $24, that's a steal compared to home. The shrimp was the star of the bowl. The collards were too vinegary, and the black-eyed peas were to my liking. My side order of sweet potatoes were good. Nice cut potatoes with a sweet buttery taste. The Voodoo Bowl had a lot going on for only $27, and the crab and shrimp were the stars of it. With all the good food, we were unfortunately disappointed with the beignets. They were hard and dry. I'll give this place an 9 out of 10. It's definitely worth...

My adult son and I went for dinner on Saturday evening (6ish). There were only 3 tables with people seated. There were 3 employees at the back of the restaurant. We said hi and had to ask if we should seat ourselves. No greating or guidance was given. We looked over the menus and had some questions as it was our 1st time there. Our server was friendly, but did not know anything about the menu. We ended up waiting for about 20 min to get the answer to our questions(what type of crab on the boil and how much for the add on crab and crawfish). We ordered a crab cake to start and that took quite a long time to come out. It was delicious, no doubt! A little "dark" on the bottom but didn't taste burnt. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my son got the 1/2lb boil with added 1/2 lb of crab (dungeness, btw) and 1/2 lb crawfish. Our food arrived and the portions are huge! Not complaining, I just wish they would've said something about how much we ordered. That was not only 1/2 lb of crab! I was charged appropriately but it was way more food then we were prepared for. Overall, the food is very good. Very flavorful and again, huge portions. The service needs help though. Everyone was very friendly. Just not...

Where should I begin? 🤷🏾‍♂️ The staff is excellent. The ambience is superb; dine-in seating is available. Now the food. I came across with very quite restaurant on my way to the Navy base, Imperial Beach, CA. Although it was closed that day, I took a picture of the signage and decided to check it out another day. Boy was I in for a surprise. Today, June 25, 2023 was the day. This was my first time here so I looked over the menu thoroughly and even asked for recommendations. I'm not a spicy food eater but, I asked the chef if my order of Creole mac and cheese could be modified with less spice. "Yes," she replied. I ordered that along with the Bourdon pecan praline bread pudding to go. This is by far the best Mac and cheese to include the bread pudding I've ever had. Take it from me, everything on the menu sound delicious. My hope is to try something different during my next visit. I'm eating the bread pudding now and can't wait to lick the container. It's really that good. My hat's off to the chef and staff. I heard the crab cakes are to write home about; I will try it next time. Enjoy!!
