BlendWell Comunidad — Local services in Independence

This is little place in an old bank building, I believe. I have only used the drive thru. The last time I visited, there was a young woman getting my coffee for me, and an older lady was a little too pushy towards the younger woman, telling her customers don't like coffee being handed to them the way that she was doing it. Well, if you mean hearing someone unnecessarily being reprimanded in front of customers, especially when the young woman was doing a great job and was being very attentive and kind. Yeah, I don't like dramatic overtones in my coffee. Go do payroll or manage something besides public admonishment! People have way too much of this already. I don't think it needs to happen during a normally EXCEEDINGLY happy thing for me personally which is a nice hot cup of drip coffee with some cream. It is a local owned place, so I do support them. We were on our way up north, passing through KC, and decided to stop for some coffee and lunch. A bit bored of Starbucks and chain fare, my wife found this interesting spot a little out the way. It's about a 5 minute drive from the interstate if you're a traveler like us, but very much worth it.

What we found was more than a coffee shop. It was a community center supporting diversity, belonging, and goodwill. I wish that we came through this area more often so that I could say we'll be back soon. The pressed sandwich was delicious and the cold brew was perfect.

Serena was very professional and personable in her dealing with me. She even asked me to have a seat while she prepared my order. Once completed she brought the order to me and before leaving she asked if she could get me anything else. The establishment was very clean and to my delight they have a Vegetarian friendly menu besides a regular diet menu. Last but certainly not least the restroom was super clean and well stocked.
