I am having so much trouble with auto zone. This store was no help at all. The store manager there is Scotty and he had an attitude and was not helpful at all when I was trying to get my part ordered. I was in the store for an hour trying to get a simple defective exchange taken care of. It took him 30-40 minutes to help this lady with wipers and tightening her battery terminals and after all that time he spent outside he came back inside telling her he couldn't do it. I do this for a living. It is a simple j-hook wiper blade and it could have been done in a few seconds but he couldn't figure it out. I waited patiently for 30-40 minutes to be helped and the young kid at the counter that tried to help me was super nice and tried to help but he explained he didn't have manager override numbers to do what he needed to do to help get me a new part reordered to replace the part I got in the box that was packaged wrong. After Scotty came in and wasn't of much help I called corporate and they were able to give me assistance in placing an online order with a different profile account to get it for the same price that I had ordered it for however they will not issue me my credit back for the shipping. It is not my fault that the part in the package is not the correct part. If I ordered it wrong that would be my fault but it is the correct part number and it was packed incorrectly. I have ordered this part twice to have the same issue both times. I have only ordered it from auto zone as they are the only auto parts store that can get this part and both times it is not the right part in the box. Catalog says the part should be a steel gear and it shows up with a plastic gear. I contacted the vendor directly and they confirmed it should be steel. Both packages that were shipped to home have been taped up multiple times as if someone has opened it and then retaped it up. I would just really like to have the part I need. Thats all I want. Scotty had a horrible attitude and horrible customer service. After the incident I talked to several other employees from Auto zone from that store location and others in the area and all the employees had nothing but bad things to say about this manager. They said he sits in the back office most of the day and refuses to help customers when asked and he always has an attitude. I was warned to never go to a store he manages at because he will not help you and I was told that other locations in the area have great store managers that are willing to help. On April 21, 2025, between 3:35 PM and 3:55 PM, I had an unpleasant encounter with a sales associate while trying to return an item. I had forgotten to bring an additional part for the return, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee began yelling at me.
When I asked him to please calm down and not raise his voice, he became even more aggressive. I was shocked and disappointed by the behavior, especially considering the situation could have been resolved calmly and respectfully.
This experience felt very personal and inappropriate, and Iām sharing this in hopes that store management takes it seriously. I encourage them to review the camera footage from that time to see exactly what happened. I no longer feel comfortable returning to this location, and I urge others to be cautious.
