Cake Affect — Restaurant in Indian Trail

I purchased a 9" Vanilla cake from Cake Affect after trying some absolutely delicious cup cakes. I know that love is used when baking these goods but I think unfortunately with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season something went wrong with my cake. The icing was delicious but the cake itself was very dry, as if an ingredient was accidentally left out. I gave a piece to a family member to taste just to see if I was being sensitive and he spit it out and handed me the plate back saying "it's dry". I did call and express my concern but instead of there being any attempt to resolve or rebake my cake the lady (for the sake of it being the internet I'll leave her name out) told me she baked it personally and didn't know how it dried out. I was not rude or irate on the phone, I wanted more cake so bad that I asked about getting cupcakes. I was offered a discount of $2.16 per cupcakes from $2.50. That wasn't even %50. I didn't ask for a cake for the holiday, I could have waited. Honest mistakes are made and if I been offered the opportunity to get my cake done over I would have paid for it again. We are fairly new to the area and I have been looking for a bakery. I read a bunch of reviews and decided to try Cake Affect. I am soooo glad I tried it! I ordered one Love Mahoney (german chocolate) cake and one Sunshine Lemon cake. They were both delicious! The Love Mahoney was rich and moist with a fudge like icing - my husband said it was the best he had. The Sunshine Lemon was moist with a lemon curd that was sweet and tangy and some sweet icing. My husband and I love bakery sweet treats. Today after a Google search, we decided to ride to Indian Trail to try Cake Affect. We were greater warmly by the owners. We tried several cakes. The red velvet was absolutely the best I have ever tried. It has pecans in them, which I love. They have it w/o nuts too I believe. The German Chocolate and Pecan pie were both very tasty. My son loved the Big Mama pound cake. We can't wait to go bake. Thr Cake Affect will be our # 1 pick for sweet treats...
