Today is Saturday, February 26, 2022. I left Connies Beauty Supply house on E. 38th around 7:00pm. I left angry and appalled of how I was treated as a PAYING CUSTOMER. I asked the lady if they sold hair dryers that you sit under and where they were located. She directed me to the back wall and about 10ft – 12ft high on the shelf on the back wall. There were two that I was interested in, but because they were up so high, I could barely read what the dryer came with. I asked the lady if the one was adjustable because I could not read the words and neither could she. She eventually proceeds to leave, taking the little step stool she had with her, fussing as if she wasn’t even going to get the dryer down. I said, “Ma’am. I am interested in that dryer, can you get it down.
She came back with the step stool, then said something that was TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE. She said, “You get it down”. I was in disbelief. I told her that I am almost 60 years old. I have a torn meniscus in my left knee as well as arthritis as well as arthritis in my right knee and ankle issues in my right ankle. I reminded her that, “I AM THE CUSTOMER”. She continued to fuss. She got the dryer down and LITERALLY THREW the dryer up front on the floor behind the counter next to the cashier, then began fussing in her language. I have never in life been treated like this and if it were not for me going to several stores looking for a dryer and needing one desperately, the dryer would have stayed there.
I reminded her again, that “We are the customer. WE are the reason that you are in business. If it were not for us, you would not have a business. She continued to fuss. I WILL NEVER EVER AND I MEAN EVER shop at Connie’s Beauty Supply. They DO NOT RESPECT “US” at that store and many of those type stores and we need to STOP patronizing them. The almost sixty years I have been on this earth, I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THE WAY THAT LADY in Connie’s treated me. I wish we could ALL just STOP giving THEM...
Read moreI went into this store to purchase a scarf for my grand daughter and a doo rag for my grandson. Saw some cutie socks for them and decided to get them. This lady runs up on me and ask me if I am going to buy the socks. I say yes. We go to the next aisle to look at the doo rags and scarf. I bend down to look, so I hand the socks to my grandkids. This lady is hollering at the top of her lungs to somebody’s child to stop running, this ain’t outside. Then she runs up on me and my grandkids again and says are they going to buy these socks. I said no I am. She says well you know they have 4 pair. I said yes. My grandson starts jumping around ( he’s 6) he touches the combs, I told him not to touch anything. She runs up on us again and says why he touching? I said ma’am I know how to take care of them. She says, evidently not. I take the socks from my grandkids, threw them up on the counter. With a few choice words, I told her that I refuse ti be treated like a criminal when I’m spending my money. I’ll take my business elsewhere. My grandkids who are 6 and 9 were silent. They couldn’t figure out why this woman was talking and treating us like this. I explained it to them once we got in the car. Never shop in this store people. Too many of them on every corner in our neighborhoods to be treated this way. Our money is what is keeping them...
