Overall: Delicious food that was filling. I recommend the Ital Stew along with the Jamaican Patties and/or Fried Dumplings.
Further: Service- Service was great with what felt like added authenticity. We weren't waiting around to order, get our food, or get the check. At the same time, I didn't feel rushed and it seemed fairly laid back.
Quality- Disclaimer, this is my first experience with Jamaican cuisine so I can't rate the authenticity, however, the food was delicious. For our entrees we got the Breezy Callaloo Wrap and the Ital Stew. I really liked the Ital Stew as a hearty and flavorful meal. The Breezy Callaloo Wrap was good too, just not as good as everything else. For sides we also got vegan jamaican patties, plantains, fried dumplings, and steamed okra. All of these were delicious. I would recommend trying the vegan jamaican patties and the fried dumplings as my favorites. The Okra was good too but we weren't sure if it was served in a chicken broth so we asked. We were told it was a vege broth and it was vegan.
Value- Initially I thought the food portions looked on the smaller side when looking at their online menu but it actually was quite filling with what we ordered. The prices also seem mostly fair.
Vegan Options- The menu was clearly labelled and had 3 vegan entrees and 8 vegan sides. We just couldn't decide which sides we wanted so we got several! I would have liked to see more vegan entree options so we had more choice in what to eat, but I was excited to see so many side options. It also would have been nice to see a vegan meat substitute in one of the entrees for...
Read moreIt is disheartening to have to be eliminating what was once a 5 star rating and be firm in casting a single star to a business I proudly supported, recommended, and respected for through the last decade, since their prior location. Even catering events in the past. Food is medicine, love is and will always be the secret ingredient in all we do, especially those that prepare our food. There is spiritual mana in food, as well as physical. Aside from supporting independent business in action and word, I support loving and kind businesses.
This being said, I have been met consistently the last 5+ visits to Jamaican breeze with undeserved and unprovoked indifference and disrespect. Today I finally made mention of it picking up food and was met with definite cold indifference, even being dismissed and disregarded by all but one woman replying in a one line condescending tone and response. I was not myself, even then, being in any way disrespectful. It is confusing and unfortunate. I will no longer support this business. Where I have extensively in many ways over many years, I now recommend those I know and meet, to support elsewhere. When those who prepare my food, do so in disrespect and indifference, it poisons our food, it is no longer medicine. Sincerely a once loyal and...
