So I had a small issue with the assistant Manager this evening. I went in to purchase a couple items and noticed something that was on a skid (from the back) and I wanted to purchase it. It's a normal, everyday stocked item. Nothing special and I've seen this done by many other people around town without asking.. I asked a younger guy if he could ask the manager if it was ok to purchase the entire box. I knew they were busy and didn't want to bother them but felt wrong just taking it without asking. 30 minutes later I asked another Manager, and Carlos, the Manager said sure but I couldn't get help if I needed and would have to wait.. I said no problem as it wasn't heavy at all. I grabbed it and proceeded up front to spend a hefty 300$ and was stopped by a young man. He said I'm sorry you can't buy them because the assistant manager said no. He was uncomfortable and I didn't press the issue but he said he would confirm it. He walked away to ask. Just a side note, every second from start to finish I was polite and tried to just purchase and leave. The you man comes back with this lady. She said you can't buy these they are not for sale right now. I said what? Not for sale right now? She said she can't sell them and nobody could until AFTER EASTER! I Said after EASTER?? On a normal stocked everday item?? I didn't believe her. So I said I'll walk out tonight and these will be out on the floor by the weeks end. She said no they won't and after easter they will be sold. Mind you, she had it in her head not to sale and I believe, like other places, items are held or sold to friends. I didn't say that of course. So I asked what her name was. She said you can ask customer service for my name. My head filled with anger as by now she upset me. I said you can't give me your name? Nope, she says, ask them up there I'm too busy. I said too busy?? Again I was in a bit shock....she said this is the items....I said yeah and I'm calling corporate because this is ridiculous. She took longer to tell me she didn't have time more than 2 times to telle her name. I went to customer service and her name is alana. Unsure if it's spelled right since she walked to the back with the easy 300$ purchase she refused me to make. I was at the checkout by the time she came up too. So I will hope corporate will listen as I'm calling them. It was silly and uncalled for and very un kroger like. She needs to not be so hard headed or whatever she is. Not giving me her name was the sole reason you read this. Really bad way to.treat a customer that has spent more than his share of groceries and all the other goodies that keeps me coming back. But ALANA ( the assistant manager) needs to learn how to be the assistant Manager Kroger can count on and I hope this review helps them see the people in charge talking to valued customers and being very rude. Please call me Kroger Corporate, as I'm hoping to finish my purchase that I was denied.

   Read moreI usually shop in store-I am always so happy when I go shopping at Kroger. Last week on 05/24/2022 I decided to try online shopping for the 1st time. Everyone says how easy and great it is. I placed my order by 2-ish in the afternoon and chose delivery. So, it got placed by InstaCart and I was texted that kevin was my shopper and it would be delivered by 5 pm that day. Which was good because I was buying items I needed for dinner that night. Almost immediately I started getting texts saying Kevin was refunding me for something that wasn't available. I got 6 or 7 of those texts. He finally got done and said he was checking out and the delivery would be there by 5:30 pm. Then around 5 o'clock, I got another text saying Kimberly was my shopper and my delivery would be there around 7:15 pm. What?! I thought Kevin had already shopped and was supposed to be delivering my groceries? So, I started getting texts from Kimberly saying she was refunding me for items not available. I was so frustrated at this point, I texted Kimberly and asked her if I could cancel the whole thing. She told me to contact customer service. So, I called the number in the link on my original text and told them to cancel everything. They told me that it was refunded-but I still have not received my $ 191.00 back. So, now I have no groceries and no money to buy new groceries with. I tried calling Kroger customer service and all they can tell me is how sorry they are but I will have to wait the 7-10 business days for the refund. Even though my shopper never checked out!!!    Read moreIâve shopped at Kroger since I was a kid with my parents 20+ Years, but after tonight, Krogerâs reputation with me has been slightly tainted. The level of gross incompetence displayed by Carlos the supervisor and the young lady who was running self check out was baffling. I have a $10,000 credit line with a specific bank, I spend easily $1400 monthly between groceries and gas for our family. I went in to buy a few things and the credit card machine was asking for a pin number after already waiting for about five minutes for the young lady to check my ID, I asked why I was asking for a pin I had never set up a pin . She said oh itâs a MasterCard you need to enter a pin whatâs your pin? I replied with the same answer, and she said Iâm not going to argue with you. I replied excuse me I wasnât arguing I was asking for your help. And asked if a supervisor could possibly help. To be malicious or anything but just for help. Unfortunately, it was a waste of everybodyâs time because Carlos was just as timid and just as incompetent. I know the Staffing shortage has been an issue, but I also know those folks have been there for a long time. Extremely offensive for someone who should invest in stock show in Kroger ever go public lol Ironically, I went 100 yards down the road to CVS got all of the same items with the same credit card however, their system was able to let me bypass the pin like any other place of business...
