Stay far away from this Meijer. They are having a lot of problems going on with shoplifting. I only shop Meijer, love the mperks and coupons I can clip on my phone. And have them automatically be taken off when I go through check out. I have mainly been shopping Meijer for about 3 years. I also get my prescriptions filled there. I have spent a lot of money at Meijer. I no longer shop at the Meijer in Cumberland/E. Washington because of two incidents/conversations with Carrie. One of the store managers. I was told her title is under the store director. Whoever that is? I guess because the Indy Go buses pull out of that Meijer store. There have been a lot of employee/customer complaints. That the "homeless" customers who hang out, spend too many hours in the store. Especially the eating area by the produce/deli department. This is the conversation I had with Carrie and several other employees that work there. She actually told me I was spending too many hours in the store as well. And thought just because I talk to everyone. That I must be with "them", included in the same group. Every time I would go into store I was not just hanging out. To get warm or trespassing. I was buying food/drink. And getting my prescriptions filled. Which managers could see on camera. It gets better, she said there were employee complaints I was using the restroom too often, I must be doing drugs in there. Let me just say I do not use drugs, or have a addiction to drugs. Because I was eating/drinking, I did spend more trips to the restroom. Isn't that the point of a restroom to relieve bodily functions? (LOL), I mean really not to get graphic or TMI! I use to jokingly say to my ex roommate. I should get a job at Meijer, I shop there every day. Not really, I work in the Healthcare Field/Industry. And I love my job in healthcare. I am not a retail person. Unless you are a student or retired person. The hourly pay is not enough and only ever part-time, unless you are management/salary. If I were going to work part-time for a lower hourly rate than I am use to making. Accustomed to, it will not be the Meijer in Cumberland, on East Washington in Indianapolis. Just to let corporate know, or whoever reads and reply's to customer comments, you lost a good, loyal, honest customer who spent a lot of my hard earned money in your store. I was not in you store to hang out, wait on the bus, trespass, shoplift. Or do drugs in your...
Read moreI'm wondering should I ever return to this grocery store again .. Smh .. Ok , so where should I began ? Well , begin I must so here goes .. Last night , I went to Meijer's here on East Washington Street to buy groceries . I wanted to fry some catfish for my family and a pot of Rice-A-Roni (chicken & broccoli flavor) , and of course I bought a couple of other items too .. The packet of fish was wrapped because I got it from the meat department .. Come to find out the fish cost me $20.23 . And that was only for 5 pieces of fish .. Five pieces of fish isn't quite enough to satisfy me , muchless the rest of my family .. It's really disheartening to already get messed over by your employer , having to settle for part-time pay instead of full-time pay , meaning your finances are really low .. Your money is funny and your change is strange .. It's bad enough as it is to barely be able to afford the food because it's too expensive , but to have a cashier at a grocery store attempt or worst , actually beat you out of groceries , or beat you out of your money is even worst . That same day , I was in the checkout line , when an elderly man in front of me was being checked out by the cashier .. Now I'm looking at the few little items he had on the counter to pay for and the cashier rings up a total of $129 .. I saw on the cash register terminal where the cashier put in $70.67 for a pack of chicken wings . A regular pack of chicken wings aren't going to cost $70.67 . I don't care what you say . So I corrected the cashier , and the real amount was adjusted to the order .. I suppose had I not been there , that poor old man would most likely had been cheated out of an added $89 more . His adjusted new balance came to about $50 instead . I'm under the impression that cashier knew what he was doing . He probably intended to pocket the other $89 for himself . You're on a cash register for crying out loud . It's not like you had to estimate the price mentally .. Why can't these grocery stores do what's right by the customer ? Is that too much to ask ? You lose business with customers when you try to beat them out of their money . I've spent over $120 in that store myself , and don't have nothing to...
Read moreTo whom it may concern: Tuesday, January 29th, my boyfriend went to this Meijer around 5:30am. Required to work outside in the midst of an Arctic blast with well below freezing temps(-40 with wind), he was in desperate need of a facemask to prevent near-instant frostbite. Asking for assistance, one female employee directed him to the only spot she knew of after he had looked around for it himself. After realizing your store was out of face masks, he was simply leaving. Walking out, he was approached by a short, blonde haired female employee who told him, Thank you, dont come back. Which at first he thought might have been sarcasm, until he said asked why. She replied back telling him his kind wasnt welcome and that you guys arent stupid and know what he was doing. He told her she was tweakin and asked for any source of proof that led to this accusation. Denied any proof, he insisted to have control room security show video footage of the short period time he was in the store. He was denied again and told to leave and not come back.To make things clear he wasnt shoplifting nor does he ever need to shoplift, but thats obvious considering your security wouldve stopped and searched him before he went to exit the main doors. He works for living. Yeah, his work outfit may look dirty, but he carries drywall, not exactly the cleanest work environment. That doesnt give her the right to discriminate him for that. Maybe it drew suspicion because he came in, walked around, and left with no purchase. That still doesnt give her the right to wrongfully accuse someone for shoplifting. We would like an explanation as to why your store let this little blonde girl walk around discriminating people based on their appearance or any reason for that fact. Is that how your employees show value, dignity, or even respect to your customers? We shop there quite often and if this is going to be a problem every time he goes into your store then we will just stop shopping with Meijer. Thank...
