I had a deeply disappointing and horrifying experience with this store that I feel compelled to share. On Jun 4 or 5, 2025, I purchased a pack of Janaki brand idli batter which showed a printed “use by” date of June 6th, 2025. I did not check the use by date at that time in store and only saw it after reaching home. However, something felt off, so I peeled back the top sticker—and to my shock, there was another label underneath showing an earlier “use by” date of April 30th, 2025.
This is not just dishonest—it’s dangerous. My wife is currently 35 weeks pregnant, and food safety is absolutely critical for us right now. It’s appalling that a store would tamper with expiry labels just to sell expired products. This kind of behavior shows a complete lack of ethics and regard for customers’ health, all for the sake of a few dollars.
If you care about your family’s well-being, I strongly advise against purchasing any locally sourced or perishable items from such stores unless you’re absolutely sure of their integrity. This kind of manipulation is not just...
Read moreI just want to ask one thing - when is the price coming down. It is a common problem here in USA with indian store. Last year with increasing inflation things become expensive and it was a golden opportunity for Indian store to increase the prices. I was waiting to see if they're going to reduce the price now that the inflation is coming down and other stores like Walmart and American stores are bringing down their prices. I'm not surprised now to see Indian stores still not reducing the price. This is a problem with indian store, they just want to get the best out of the difficult situation. I will not be surprised when inflation will be back to 3% in next 6 months or year an Indian store will keep the same price like last year when the inflation went up by 9%. It would be funny to watch every American store going back to the prices they had before while Indian store will keep telling the blatant lie about distributors giving them stuff in higher prices. Let's wait and watch how greedy this Indian...
Read moreI moved to indy recently from one of the eastern states and found myself in price shock looking at the groceries prices in indy. I used to visit Patel brother store in my previous location and really liked them. This store is Pricy compared to other stores in the same areas. This Patel brothers is costly than other Patel brother on the 82nd Street. People got used to high rates imposed by these Patel brothers and compared to shop close by noticed a high price difference today. I felt like being robbed looking at the price difference (approx 100% difference). Per lb price difference. I will keep an eye on these price difference and edit it.
