I just attempted to eat here and it was definitely an experience. This is probably my 20th time eating here and generally I rave about this place. I remember when they used to be a Mexican place before they started serving breakfast. Long time fan. But today was my last time visiting. They were pretty busy for lunch. No big deal. The food, is worth it. WELL once we received our drinks, I didn't see a waitress for 30 mins. We ordered a salad and some hasbrowns. When the food FINALLY came with no apology for the wait, my plate had old food all over the bottom, and sides. I'm sorry but I really don't want an order of crusted up half washed refried beans with my Cobb Salad. I showed this to a different waitress and requested that we just pay for our drinks (which we only took like 5 sips of btw) cause at this point I didn't trust their dishes. It turned my stomach. The waitress obliged, and allowed us to pay only for our drinks which I feel like should have been free as a courtesy for the whole terrible experience. But whatever. What I really found the most disrespectful was that the waitress who was at the cash register and the waitress who was waiting on us and disappeared for 30 mins, was gesturing and talking smack about us. We were nothing but nice, I realize I shouldn't have been now. I even tipped her for the drinks. I didn't even need to do that. So anyway just check your dishes when you eat there before you all end up with Salmonella. Have...

My wife and I decided to try something new today and headed west after hearing good things about Sunshine Breakfast House & Grill. It’s tucked just off the north side of 38th Street—easy to miss if you’re not paying attention.
I ordered the Meat Lover’s Omelette—bacon, sausage, ham, and cheese. It came with hash browns, and I added toast and two extra strips of bacon. Coffee was hot and solid. I also ordered orange juice, but it never came—forgot about it until now.
My wife went off-menu and built her own plate: scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, hash browns, wheat toast, and pancakes. No complaints—she enjoyed it all.
The food? Really good. My omelette was stuffed and full of flavor. They’ve got a big menu that mixes American and Mexican breakfast and lunch options, so there’s a lot to explore.
The place is clean and comfortable, with cozy booths, standard tables, and a bar area that mirrors the main dining room. Service was friendly and quick, though the language barrier made some things a little bumpy. Nothing major, just something to note.
Bottom line: Solid breakfast spot. Big portions, clean space, good food. I’d come back if I’m in the...
Read moreThis place is way to overpriced for food that my kids could make just as good. The menu does not explain all the add-ons that you will enquire. For myself who only had hashbrowns and my two girls 8 and 10 it cost $28 for waffles meals. First the Belgian waffle meal was prices 7.99the waffles had the toppings on them with prices next to it for example of strawberry and banana 799 blueberry 699 the very last line said Belgian waffle in the meal. So I assume that would be the waffles with the eggs in the sausage or bacon but no they charged another 3:49 for the bananas and strawberries plus cheese for the eggs and probably charged me for extra crispy bacon. the men you should have been more clear about the waffles themselves vs. Adding it as a meal because for 2 waffles a little bit of scrambled eggs two little sausage links and literally two pieces of bacon and a small small side of hash browns was$28 if I would have known I wasn't getting the meal price for the waffles they wanted I would have never ordered it. Either way the food was not any better than a below average...
