Home Depot is a toy store for me. I spend way more than I should and every visit is a good visit. Employees are friendly and helpful. However, this trip was especially enjoyable. I was on the hunt for a BBQ grill that was on clearance at many stores with different pricing. When I found the grill at this store at the price I was hoping for, I called and spoke to Wendy. I explained to her what I was searching for and since none showed in stock, she put me on hold to go check the floor models and was able to find it fully assembled and confirmed that the correct pricing. However, she stated that she was not able to hold it since it was on clearance. I rushed over there. When I arrived, I went to check the floor models to see that the grill was no longer there. I proceeded to head inside to the customer service desk to ask for Wendy. Of course, she was the person that first approached me. Before I was able to ask her about the grill, she turned around and there it was with my name on it. She did indeed held it for me. I can't thank her enough for going over and beyond to secure this grill for me and for saving me from continuing my hunt. After making the purchase, I was assisted by Ant. Since it was fully assembled, I needed help in taking it partially apart to fit in my SUV. Not only did he get me the tools, he helped me load it up. These are the only 2 employees that I could remember their names. I did encounter a number of others who were all very friendly and helpful. This has been by far, my most pleasant visit to any store. While I ran into three associates, two we had to approach, one was kinda helpful the second one was very helpful, even walked us to the item we were looking for while the first two just have us general info on the same item. The other greeted us upfront asking if we needed help when we replied yes he said he'd be right back after he finished with other guests. While waiting I noticed he greeted someone else and started to assist them till he saw I was looking at him then he reluctantly walked over and asked if we still needed help to which I replied yes. I know it may seem petty, but I'd prefer the, "I'm with other guests at the moment if you need help I should be free shortly" to the do you need help then when you say yes they say they're busy. The other part was going to hello someone else that showed up after me then only half way acknowledging me when we make eye contact. We decided not to buy the washer and dryer there and just ordered the same units on line from Costco. The 1st project was the Berber carpet they measured it short the carpet came up they had to come back the next day to restrech the carpet, 2nd project the bathroom, supplies were in for over 4 weeks no one contacted us for the install, 3rd project the dishwasher they didn't bolt it in water all over the house 4th project hardwood floor in the living room and stairs... the stairs had air pockets, 5th project we went in for a stove and refrigerator They said they had in stock frigerator didn't come for a month during a heat wave. This current project hardwood floor install downstairs bathroom, entry way and closet. They came out twice to measure charged $50 each time for the measurement, day of installation installer comes out and measurements are wrong they only sent enough materials for the bathroom and closet no entry way .
