Best friend trip to L.A. for a couple days before she took off on an international trip. We wanted to be near the airport since she had an early flight on her day of departure. The hotel is a 10-15 minute drive to the airport, depending on traffic. It is in a typical working class area of L.A. Only a few food options within walking distance but there is a liquor store right across the street if you feel the need to get your drink on.||||Check-in started out a bit sketchy when the manager/owner told us his computer was down. No worries, that happens. We filled out the registration card, explained that the room had been pre-paid online, and began looking for the e-mail showing the receipt. During this exchange he all but accused us of lying and told us that he had been in the hotel business for many years (not sure what his experience level had to do with the situation). Then when we showed him the electronic proof of payment, his computer suddenly started working again and he found our reservation.||||We got to the room, which was a good size, but had an awkwardly large (and uncomfortable) couch in the middle of the room. I get that they were trying to create a seating area, but a couple of club chairs would have done the trick. It was apparent that the room was being upgraded. The bed was good and sheets clean; the carpet was decent. The double sinks were nice (didn't match - but quite trendy) and the amount of counter space was awesome. The bathroom had new tile but the plumbing was old, rusted, and hanging off the walls. The shower curtain had obvious mold and mildew on it and the tub was chipped in a couple spots. There were a couple of six legged "friends" in the tub in the morning.||||For $95, in L.A., I am not expecting above average or excellent accommodations, but the price was a bit much for an...
Read moreFlew in to LAX and spent the night for a concert at The Forum, it was $115 with tax for the 1 night (others were going for $200+).
No shuttle from LAX but I took the 15-20min walk up to where the 115 bus line connects (there's a Trader Joe's, Ross, etc there) and that took me right to the hotel in about 10 minutes for only $1.75, and I was able to take that same bus to The Forum.
No breakfast, but the room itself was nice! It felt very spacious compared to what I would've gotten at a regular hotel and it felt clean (also checked everywhere for bed bugs and found none, thankfully). The only 2 cons were that the decorative(?) blanket on the bed had 2 melted holes in it (I'm guessing from someone putting out cigarettes or overheated in the dryer??) and that leads to the 2nd con: they said my room was non-smoking but I did get a slight scent of smoke that went away after a bit of time. My guess is it is a non-smoking room, but the previous tenant smoked in there, which is why they stressed to me on check in that it should be non-smoking and they must've cleaned it out best they could.
2 other points, not exactly cons but things to note: if you're even a tiny bit on the plus size side, the towels won't be big enough for you. I'm a short and small person and they were just good enough of a size to fit me. Also, the 3 pillows provided weren't the best feeling (very thin and cheap). Not really cons for me though since I got more than expected for what I paid for and the...
Read moreCool little spot to take ya side chick 2.. lol.. reasonable prices the rooms was ok the hot tub was wonderful spent the majority of my time in there.. only thing they didn’t do a very good job cleaning it as strands of weave hair from the previous tenants was still in there had to go to the liquor store cross the street to get some Ajax and clean the tub.. Would’ve given them the whole 5 stars if they would’ve did a better job for $120 dollar room.. and on a good night u might just luck up on a good ol fashion hooker fight in the parking lot and occasionally a pimp slappin his ho(guess Mr. Franklin looked a lil lonely & Wayne Brady had to choke a bih! 🤷🏾♂️😂 ...but other then that it was cool staff was friendly liquor store cross the street open till 2am burger stand across from the liquor store but don’t waist your time the burgers was dry and the fries tasted like fries they recooked.. i wouldn’t take that chance it’s a Carl’s Jr. down the street.....
